2. Description of the Related Art Calves from the lactation period to the weaning period have an ecological function mainly under the control of autonomic nerves, so that stress such as environmental changes causes an abnormality in the digestive tract and causes indigestion. In addition, diarrhea is likely to occur due to infection or abnormal fermentation of bacteria in the digestive tract. In addition, the balance of body water in calves is unstable because the proportion of body-bound water is low, and the balance of body water is disturbed by a slight stress, causing rapid dehydration and easily causing cachexia. Even if such a calf is fed with breast milk or a normal milk substitute, it is difficult to be absorbed from the weakened digestive tract, so that the calf suffers from malnutrition and dehydration and, in the worst case, is fatal.

Such diarrhea of calves accounts for about 13% of the diseases of calves, and the morbidity and mortality are extremely high. Even if it is cured, many calves have a poor prognosis, and the feed efficiency is extremely poor, resulting in so-called "trough calves", which is a great economic loss for farmers. The present invention is
The present invention has been made in view of these points, and provides a calf feed composition that is more absorbable from the digestive tract than breast milk or milk substitute.

According to the feed composition for cattle of the present invention, the composition has 8 carbon atoms.
Triglycerides consisting of 10 to 10 medium chain fatty acids are very easily hydrolyzed by pancreatic enzymes in the intestinal tract. Further, this triglyceride enters the small intestinal mucosal cells without being hydrolyzed and is hydrolyzed by the lipase present in the mucous membrane even in the state of pancreatic juice or bile deficiency. Most of the hydrolyzed medium chain fatty acids are delivered to the portal blood in the form of free fatty acids without being re-esterified and transported. Therefore, the rate of rapid and efficient absorption from the small intestine is four times that of long-chain fatty acids. In addition, oligopeptides consisting of 3 to 10 amino acids are easily absorbed from the intestinal tract without being affected by digestive enzymes, and some of them are decomposed by peptidases in the small intestinal cells to form free amino acids in the blood. Be absorbed. Since the fatty acids and peptides decomposed in such a state that they are easily absorbed in advance are supplied, they are easily absorbed even from the weakened digestive tract.

100 g of a feed composition in which various components were uniformly mixed according to the above composition was dissolved in 2 liters of warm water to cause diarrhea in calves (Holstein, 11 during lactation).
~ 20 days old, 10 females, 18 males) were fed twice a day (morning and evening) for 5 days. During this feeding period, the feeding of breast milk and milk replacer was discontinued. As a control, calves (5 females, 5 males) that also had diarrhea of 11 to 20 days of age
For the head, breast milk was fed twice a day (morning and evening) for 5 days. The general condition of each test item was examined for the calves in the test plots fed the feed composition of the present invention after feeding and the calves in the control plots. The results are shown in Table 1.

The calf in the test section and the calf in the control section were measured for total protein amount, sodium amount, and potassium amount in serum on the 0th day, the 2nd day, and the 5th day after the start of feeding.
The serum sample used in this measurement was obtained by collecting a fixed amount of calf blood in a blood collection tube, centrifuging the blood after centrifuging at 300 rpm for 10 minutes, and then separating the serum portion. The serum components were measured by the refraction method for the total amount of protein and by atomic absorption spectrometry for sodium and potassium. The results are shown in Table 2.

EFFECTS OF THE INVENTION The calf feed composition of the present invention contains a fatty acid and a peptide that have been separated and decomposed into a readily absorbable state in advance, and therefore is extremely useful for calves whose digestive tract function has been deteriorated due to diarrhea. Various nutrients can be absorbed rapidly and efficiently. As a result, the diarrhea of calves can be easily improved, and the productivity of calves can be markedly improved.
