取付けることによって、内部の電球がつくと地球儀の前面が照らし出されて昼間を現し、裏面は夜となる。地球の表面は、レリーフされ着色され立体感を強くしてある。時差並びに距離を表示する。よって地球を自転させる事が出来る。 When attached, the light bulb inside will illuminate the front of the globe to reveal daytime and the back will be night.
