When storing the roller with the cardboard wrapped around it in this way, the roller must be kept upright or placed on the floor. However, in the former case, the outer surface of the roller may be damaged by the impact of the roller being hit by an object or due to vibrations such as during an earthquake, and in the latter case, the roller may be rolled and similarly damaged.

To prevent this, several rollers are tied together with ropes to prevent them from falling over.
The cylindrical shape is inconvenient when it comes to inventory management of the rollers. Also, when transporting roller materials, the outer surfaces are protected by tying them together with ropes, but this protection is still not sufficient, and cylindrical storage management is inconvenient in various ways. In many cases, there is a need for protective equipment that can completely protect the outer surface and is easy to store and manage.

The present invention is a protective device that covers around a cylindrical material such as an ink roller for printing or a plate roller for gravure printing and a cylindrical material such as a steel pipe. the containers are formed so that they can overlap each other in a posture in which the respective recesses face each other, and the side walls parallel to the axis of the cylindrical material that sandwich and accommodate the recesses are formed in a rectangular wave shape in which notches and protrusions are sequentially formed, The notch and the protruding piece formed on the side wall of one container have a positional relationship in which they fit together with the notch and the protruding piece of the other container, and the pair of containers are combined into the protruding piece. At times, the pair of containers can be connected by a fastening material that is provided through holes that align with each other and that can be inserted into and taken out from the holes of each of the cylindrical materials, and further, the recess of the container is provided with a fastening material of the cylindrical material. It is characterized by comprising a seat that receives the peripheral surface.

In addition to being able to combine two containers by utilizing the fact that the protruding pieces and notches fit together, containers can also be connected by simply inserting a fastening material through a hole in the protruding piece, and the outer shell of the container The members connecting the containers do not protrude, making it easy to stack and store protective equipment.

The containers 1 and 2 are made of vibration-absorbing foamed polystyrene, lightweight plastic, hard rubber, or the like, and have a semicircular notch 3 formed on the end surface and a projecting piece 4 on the side wall. The positions of the protrusions 4 are such that when both containers 1 and 2 are superimposed, the protrusions 4 can fit into the notches 5 between the protrusions 4.

A hole 6 is provided in the longitudinal direction of the projecting piece 4 of both the containers 1 and 2 to be aligned during superposition, and a fastening member 7 is inserted into the hole 6 to integrate the containers 1 and 2. The fastening member 7 is made of steel wire, reinforcing bar, or the like that can be freely bent to some extent.

Furthermore, 8 is a spacer made of foamed polystyrene which is set in the containers 1 and 2 in advance, and is formed in a half-moon shape to receive the peripheral surface of the roller R. This spacer 8 is a seat that is accommodated in the recess of the containers 1 and 2 and on which the roller R is placed, and may be molded integrally with the containers 1 and 2 instead of the spacer 8.

When the roller R is housed in one of the containers 1 of the protective equipment A, the spacer 8 stably supports it from the top and bottom, and by utilizing its elastic deformation, the roller R can be held without wobbling.

Next, the other container 2 is superimposed on the lower container 1 from above so as to hide the entire roller R, and the projecting pieces 4 are fitted into the mutual cutout portions 5 to integrate them.

Furthermore, by inserting the fastening member 7 into the hole 6 and integrating both containers 1 and 2, the roller R is entirely covered and can be stored without scratches or dust on its surface during transportation or storage. .

That is, since the containers 1 and 2 and the spacer 8 are both made of materials with elastic vibration absorbing properties, they have the function of buffering external forces against the roller R, and the spacer 8 follows the circumferential surface of the roller R to absorb this force. Since it is held, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of misalignment, etc.
Stable protection is maintained.

Moreover, if the containers 1 and 2 are made into a rectangular shape with a square cross section when they are overlapped, the protective equipment A can be stacked vertically and horizontally when stored in a warehouse or transported by vehicle, which simplifies the work.
