Recent trends in connectors include the increasing density and miniaturization of electronic components, and the connectors themselves are also becoming smaller and smaller.
As the density of connectors increases, the board thickness, pitch spacing, arrangement, etc. of connection terminals provided in connectors continue to decrease, and there is a trend toward multi-core connectors with more than 100 terminals per connector.

When multi-core is used in this way, the strength of the terminal itself becomes weaker, and the terminal may be bent or twisted due to minute external forces during the manufacturing process, and the terminal may not be able to connect to the through hole provided on the printed circuit board. There is a problem that insertion becomes difficult and automatic assembly is not possible.

That is, the present invention provides a housing main body with the ability to prevent manufacturing displacement and variations in the terminal portion of a package connector, deformation of the terminal portion that is likely to occur during assembly, or deformation due to external force during handling of the finished product. A terminal group of a plurality of terminals made of an elastic material with a stepped terminal arrangement shelf provided on the terminal side of the housing via the housing and the connecting portion, and with the intermediate portion bent at an approximately right angle. Slits are formed in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction according to the width of the terminals at multiple locations in the longitudinal direction of the terminal arrangement shelf where the terminals are arranged, and the positions and thicknesses of the terminals are arranged inside the slits. A recessed groove is formed for each stage of the terminal placement shelf according to the size of the terminal, and the portion of each terminal up to the bent portion, except for the tip portion to be inserted into the through hole, can be fitted into the recessed groove and the slit. The structure is characterized in that the terminal is held while being prevented from being deformed or twisted.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below. In FIG. 1, reference numeral 12 denotes a terminal placement shelf that is integrally molded into the housing 1 via a connecting portion 1' on the terminal side of the housing as shown in FIG.
These slits are provided in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the terminal placement shelf 12 in accordance with the positions of the terminal groups arranged at a plurality of locations in the longitudinal direction. This slit 13 has a structure shown enlarged in FIG.
In the figure, the width W of the slit 13 is determined in accordance with the width W of the terminal portion shown in FIG.
Reference numeral 14 denotes a convex portion projecting inwardly from the slit 13, and a groove 15 is formed in accordance with the thickness t of the terminal portion 6 shown in FIG. In FIG. 6, the plug part 4
The terminal part 6 is bent, and the intermediate part of the plug part 4, lead part 5 (the part fixed to the housing 1), contact spring 2, and terminal part 6 is bent at an almost right angle by one elastic member. formed into a state. 7 indicated by a chain line in FIG. 6 is a terminal inserted into the plug part 4. In the case of this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 3, there are four terminal portions 6, and accordingly, the terminal arrangement shelf 12 is shaped like four steps. The terminal 6 is fitted into the terminal arrangement shelf 12 integrally formed in the housing 1 as follows. In FIG. 6, the plug part 4 is inserted into the hole drilled in the housing 1, and the terminal part 6 is raised upward using the spring effect of the contact spring 2, and as shown in FIG. Terminal part 6
into the groove 15 and the slit 13. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 3, it can also be inserted through the opening of the slit 13 (in the direction of arrow B). Second
The slit width W shown in the figure is made to be very slightly narrower than the width W of the terminal portion 6.

In this way, the terminal portion 6 is fitted into the terminal placement shelf 12, as shown in FIG. By fitting the terminal portion 6, the through hole 11 of each terminal portion 6
The groove 15 and the slit 13 securely lock the portion up to the bent portion, which is most likely to wobble, except for the tip inserted into the terminal section shelf 1.
The terminal portion 6 in the unlocked state shown in FIG.
At the same time, the deformation and twist of the terminal part 6 are corrected.
You can also arrange the . Further, in FIG. 3, in the completed package connector, the tips of the terminal portions 6 protrude a predetermined length from the lower surface of the terminal portion placement shelf 12, so that strength against bending is maintained.

When the package connector thus completed is mounted on a printed circuit board 9 as shown in FIG. 7, the individual terminal portions 6 are easily inserted into the through holes 11. For fixing to the printed circuit board 9,
This is done by a rivet 10 inserted into the hole 3.

As detailed above, according to the package connector of the present invention, the terminal arrangement shelf is provided integrally with the housing, and the terminal arrangement shelf is arranged in accordance with the positions of the terminal groups arranged at a plurality of locations in the longitudinal direction of the terminal arrangement shelf. A slit is provided in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and an insertion part for inserting the terminal part is provided inside this slit, and the terminal part is inserted. Therefore, there is no deformation or twisting of the terminal part, and the terminal part can be completed easily. In the package connector, the terminals are arranged and maintained in an orderly manner.
It protects the terminal part, makes it extremely easy to insert the terminal part into the through-hole provided on the printed circuit board, and makes it possible to automate assembly, making it ideal for package connectors that are becoming more dense, smaller, and multi-core. It has extremely good effects.
