Discharge lamps have high impedance before starting, so
This is detected using current, etc., and a high voltage is generated.

In order to achieve the above object, the headlight protection device using the high-pressure discharge lamp of the present invention is provided by attaching a conductive line having temperature characteristics to the front or back surface of the lamp lens by a predetermined means, and connecting the terminal of this conductive line to a stop signal. When a disconnection occurs in the conductive line, one terminal of the stop signal generating transistor is connected to the lighting circuit that detects the temperature of the discharge lamp and controls the input power to the discharge lamp. When this is detected, the stop signal generation transistor is activated and sends a stop signal to the lighting circuit to stop the lighting. It also detects the temperature of the discharge lamp and controls the input power to the discharge lamp when it is lit again. It is structured as follows.
