This banknote deposit/withdrawal device includes a deposit/withdrawal section for inserting banknotes by customers and dispensing banknotes to customers, etc.;
A discrimination section that discriminates various types of banknotes necessary for deposit/withdrawal transactions, a banknote storage box for each denomination that stores banknotes by denomination, and a reject box that stores reject banknotes that are determined to have an abnormality by the discrimination section. For deposit transactions, the banknotes inserted into the deposit/withdrawal section by the customer are sent to the discrimination section, and the bills are discriminated one by one by the discrimination section, and the bills that are judged to be genuine and normal are separated into denominations. The banknotes are stored in a line in a banknote storage box, and banknotes that are genuine but have been identified as having abnormalities such as soiling or damage that are not suitable for use as withdrawn banknotes are stored in a reject box as reject banknotes. In addition, counterfeit banknotes that have not been distinguished from genuine banknotes are returned to the customer, etc.

At the time of a withdrawal transaction, bills are dispensed one by one from the bill storage box for each denomination, the dispensing bills are discriminated by the discriminating section, and bills that are discriminated as normal are disbursed to the customer. Bills that are judged to have abnormalities such as double feeding, diagonal running, close running, or mixing of different types of bills are stored in the reject box as reject bills.

However, in the above-mentioned conventional banknote deposit/dispensing machine, among the reject banknotes, there are banknotes that cannot be stored in regular alignment due to the degree of double feeding, diagonal running, or close running, and banknotes that cannot be stored in regular alignment. Because both types of banknotes, which are light in weight and can be stored in regular alignment, are mixed and stored in one reject box, the storage format becomes messy, and the reject banknotes that cannot be stored in regular alignment in the reject box take up space. There was a problem in that the space inside the reject box could not be used effectively, making it difficult to store a large amount of reject banknotes that would be generated afterwards.

In addition, when the machine automatically counts the reject banknotes in the reject box at the teller's office at the end of the day, if the banknotes in the reject box are piled up in a disorderly manner, the reject box will be replaced with banknotes for the teller. It became impossible to set the banknotes directly in a counting machine and count them automatically, and all the reject banknotes had to be counted manually, which resulted in problems such as increased work and time-consuming counting process.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned purpose, the present invention includes a deposit/withdrawal section for inserting banknotes by customers, etc. and dispensing banknotes to customers, etc., and a system for checking the authenticity, fitness, denomination, and double feeding of banknotes. A discrimination unit that discriminates whether there are abnormalities such as banknotes, diagonal running, close running, or mixture of different types of bills, and a normal banknote among the prepared banknotes for withdrawal and deposited banknotes that are discriminated by this discrimination unit, and sorted by denomination. Banknote storage boxes for each denomination arranged and stored on a stage that can be moved up and down, rejected banknotes that have been determined by the recognition unit to be genuine banknotes but have abnormalities such as defacement or damage, and duplicate banknotes. In a bill depositing and dispensing device that includes a reject box that stores rejected bills that have been identified as having an abnormality such as forwarding, diagonal running, approaching bills, or mixing of different types of bills, the discrimination section is configured to detect whether the deposited reject bills are rejected or not. Determine whether or not it is possible to store the bills in line in the reject box, and if the rejected bills are double-fed, run diagonally, or run close together, store them in a line in the reject box. is impossible,
If the condition is light, it is determined that it is possible to line up and store in a reject box, and the reject box has a stage that can move up and down, and the discrimination section makes it possible to line up and store. a first reject box for arranging and storing deposited reject banknotes and withdrawn reject banknotes that have been determined to be possible on the stage; The present invention is characterized by comprising a second reject box for storing deposited reject banknotes and withdrawn reject banknotes which have been determined to be impossible to store by free release.

In the present invention having the above-described configuration, during a deposit/withdrawal transaction, the discriminating unit distinguishes the reject banknotes from the reject banknotes, and furthermore, stores the reject banknotes that are determined to be able to be stored in a line in the first reject box. Reject banknotes that are determined to be impossible to store in an aligned manner are stored in a second reject box by free release.

Therefore, by separately storing the reject banknotes in the first and second reject boxes, the allowable limit amount of reject banknotes can be stored in the first reject box. Since it is also possible to automatically count the reject banknotes in the reject box 1 by a machine, it is possible to save labor and speed up the processing.

(i) Determining whether or not the reject banknotes can be stored regularly in the reject box based on the degree of abnormality according to paragraphs (d), (e), (g), and (h) above, that is, whether or not the reject banknotes are duplicated. A function that determines that if the degree of feeding, diagonal running, or close running is severe, it is impossible to line up and store in the reject box, and if the degree is light, it is possible to line up and store in the reject box.

Here, to specifically describe the determination function (i) by the discrimination unit 25, in the case of double feeding, if the preceding banknote and the following banknote overlap almost as one sheet, double If the degree of feeding is light, it is determined that alignment and storage is possible, and in other overlapping ways, it is determined that the degree of double feeding is heavy and alignment and storage is impossible.

In addition, in the case of diagonal driving, the normal state is to be tilted to a certain permissible angle (e.g., about 8 degrees) with respect to the straight running posture, and then to a further certain angle (e.g., about 8 to 15 degrees). ) is determined to be a light degree of diagonal travel and can be stored in a row, and a state tilted further than that is determined to be a heavy diagonal travel and cannot be stored in a row.

Furthermore, in the case of close running, if the distance between the trailing edge of the preceding bill and the leading edge of the following bill is relatively generous (e.g. 70 to 100 sec/mm), the degree of close running is light. Can be stored in alignment as

The above-mentioned embodiments are explained using a so-called counter transaction device in which a customer and a teller perform deposit and withdrawal transactions on behalf of the customer as an example, but an automatic transaction device in which only the customer performs deposit and withdrawal transactions by his or her own operation is applicable. Of course, it is also effective.

As explained above, the present invention is a first reject box that is formed to have a narrower width than the first reject box as a reject box for storing reject banknotes generated during deposit transactions and withdrawal transactions. If the reject banknotes are double-fed, run diagonally, or close to each other, it is impossible to store them in line in the reject box, and if the reject banknotes are of a heavy degree, it is impossible to store them in line in the reject box. In this case, it is determined that the banknotes can be stored in a line in the reject box, and the identification unit identifies the banknotes as reject banknotes at the time of banknote loading, deposit/withdrawal transaction, and banknote collection, and furthermore, the banknotes are identified as reject banknotes and Reject banknotes that are determined to be able to be stored in a row are arranged and stored on the stage in the first reject box, and reject banknotes that are determined to be impossible to store in a row are stored in a second stage. It is stored in a reject box by free release.

In this way, the present invention stores the reject banknotes separately in the first and second reject boxes depending on whether they can be sorted or not, so that the reject banknotes can be efficiently stored up to the allowable limit in the first reject box. Since the banknotes can be stored well and the machine can automatically count the reject banknotes in the first reject box, it is possible to save labor and speed up processing.

Furthermore, since the second reject box that stores reject banknotes that have been determined to be impossible to store in an aligned manner by free release is formed to have a narrower width than the first reject box, this Another advantage is that the dedicated space for the second reject box can be reduced.
