At paid parking lots with entrance/exit gates, you usually receive a parking ticket that records the time of entry, etc. when you enter the parking lot, and when you exit the parking lot, you put this parking ticket into an automatic fare adjustment machine to calculate the parking fee, and the machine calculates the parking fee. After paying the parking fee, the exit gate will open and you can exit the parking lot. However, for regular customers who frequently use the parking lot, it is extremely troublesome to receive a parking ticket or pay a parking fee each time they park, and they must always have small change on hand. Collecting parking fees in cash is cumbersome, and there is a high risk of theft, so it is necessary to strengthen the fee collection mechanism or have a dedicated employee manage the collected fees. As a result, there was a disadvantageous problem for the parking lot side, which was that manufacturing costs and management costs increased accordingly.

Therefore, we came up with the idea of a fixed-term parking card, but since it is purchased by paying a fee in advance, regardless of the number of times (time) you park, it is not suitable for customers who use it infrequently. There is a problem with it being expensive. Also, like the recently developed phone card,
It was also considered to use a parking card based on a ticket system, in which a fee corresponding to the number of usage times (number of parking hours) is subtracted from the sequential fee, but in the case of a parking card based on a multiple ticket system, the fee is charged every time the parking lot is entered and exited. Since the time etc. cannot be displayed (printed) on the card, it is not possible to know from the card the number of hours the car was actually parked, the parking fee paid, or the balance of the coupon ticket.
Even if for some reason an error occurs in the entry/exit time, parking time, fare, etc. recorded on the management machine, there is a problem in that it is not possible to identify or point out the error.

In addition, when using the above-mentioned parking ticket system, it may be possible to issue a regular parking ticket at the same time each time the vehicle enters the parking lot, and to print the fare and time on the parking ticket and visually check it when exiting the parking lot. However, having to insert and remove both a parking card and a parking ticket every time you park your car becomes a double hassle, and even if you achieve the goal of eliminating cash, it actually makes the procedure for entering and exiting the parking lot more troublesome. There was a problem with high management costs.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned points, and its purpose is to record parking fee payments on a pre-purchased card, without issuing a parking ticket each time the vehicle enters a parking lot. This can be done with a cashless system that subtracts the parking fee from the principal amount, and also shows the parking fee, parking fee, and entry/exit time on the card each time it is used.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a parking card with a liquid crystal display that displays the balance amount on the liquid crystal display so that the customer can visually check the parking situation on the card.
Every time you insert a parking card with amount information that sequentially subtracts the amount of parking fees into the parking lot's entry and exit management machines and perform parking and exit processing, the time of entry and exit is calculated. The above-mentioned objectives are achieved by providing a liquid crystal display section that displays the parking fee or balance on a liquid crystal display.

As shown in Figure 2, the parking card P is made entirely of a thin plate like a bank savings card or credit card using a synthetic resin plate such as vinyl chloride, and has a magnetic recording medium formed on the card surface. P1 records the entry time record field and the amount information that can be used for this card P (2,000 yen in the case shown), and the card also has indexes for entry, exit, charge, and balance. Liquid crystal display sections P2, P3, P4, and P5 are formed to display the parking time, exit time, parking fee, and current balance of amount information.
A signal terminal P6 is provided for inputting a control signal for operating the display. P7 is a one-chip microcomputer element (IC chip) embedded in the card P, and if the memory of this element is provided with an area for the above-mentioned storage time and amount information, the formation of the above-mentioned magnetic recording medium P1 becomes unnecessary. However, for example, the time of warehousing may be recorded on the magnetic recording medium P1, and the amount information may be recorded on this element P7. Although not shown, a battery for maintaining the liquid crystal display is also embedded together with this element P7.

First, in the first step S1 of the parking process shown in FIG. 5, the output of the card detector 4 is checked to determine whether or not the parking card P has been inserted.
When the parking card P is inserted, the process proceeds to the next step S2, where the card feeding motor 5 is started to rotate normally, and the parking card P is pulled into the passage 3. In the next step S3, the magnetic head 7 reads the secret number etc. recorded on the parking card P to determine whether the card is a legitimate card or not. If the card is a legitimate card, the process proceeds to the next step S4 and records the information. Check the amount information listed and check whether there is an amount (balance).
If the inserted parking card P is a fraudulent card or if there is no balance, the process advances to step S13 and the card is immediately ejected.

In step S5, the signal terminal P6 of the pulled-in parking card P connects to the main body signal terminal 8 and becomes electrically conductive. In the next step S6, the entry time is stored in the memory of the one-chip microcomputer element P7 of the parking card P. In the next step S7, the same data as the entry time data stored in the memory is sent out, and the parking card P is stored in the parking card P. The storage time is displayed on the liquid crystal display section P2. Incidentally, if the storage time is magnetically recorded, the magnetic head 7 performs this at the time of card ejection, which will be described later.

4, the card is drawn in by normal rotation of the card feed motor 25, and the magnetic head 27 determines whether or not the card is a legitimate card.
After S20, S21, and S22 are performed in the same way as when entering the warehouse,
When both terminals P6 and 28 are coupled and conductive in the next step S23, the warehousing data (warehousing time) stored in the element P7 is read out in the next step S24.

In the next step S25, the parking time, that is, the parking fee, is calculated based on the entry time and the current time (card insertion/exit time) read from the element P7, and when the calculation is completed, it is recorded on the parking card P in the next step S26. Compare this parking fee with the amount information stored in the memory (memory amount), and if the amount in memory is greater, proceed to the next step S27 and display the entry time, exit time, parking fee, and balance on each LCD of the parking card P. The display portions P2, P3, P4, and P5 display liquid crystal displays as shown in FIG. The above memory amount will be rewritten to the same amount as the balance when it is displayed on the LCD, but if the amount information is magnetic information, the time of arrival can be read before connecting to the terminal, and the amount can be rewritten using the magnetic information when the card is ejected. Head 27 does this.

Furthermore, if it is determined that the amount is insufficient in step S26, this fact and the amount of shortage are displayed on the display 20C in step S28, and when the insufficient amount is paid in cash in step S29, the process returns to step S27. In this case, the balance becomes 0 and cannot be used again.

After the liquid crystal display is completed in step S27, the card is ejected by reversing the motor 25 in the next step S30, and if the amount information is magnetic information,
As mentioned above, during the discharge, the amount rewriting process of step S31 is performed, that is, the magnetic head 27 updates and records on the card the remaining amount obtained by subtracting the parking fee from the memory amount. After rewriting the amount, the exit gate 2 is the same as steps S8 to S11 when warehousing.
Each step to open and close 9G S32, S33, S34, S35
is executed and the removal of the vehicle is completed.

The parking card according to the present invention is as described above, and while it is possible to pay the parking fee without cash as long as there is a memory amount remaining, it is also possible to pay the parking fee without paying the parking fee each time you enter or exit the parking lot, the parking fee, and the memory. Since the remaining amount is displayed on each display section on the card, the parking card can be used safely and accurately while visually checking this information, and there is no need for a ticket issuing machine. It also has the advantage of greatly simplifying the structure of the warehousing control machine and reducing manufacturing costs.
Since the structure is simple and easy to implement, this system is particularly suitable for allowing regular drivers to use an unmanned parking lot where the parking lot is managed unmanned.
