Generally, this type of stick can be used as a stick by locking a pair of handle members in a closed position, that is, a rotation angle position that is approximately parallel to the axis of the stick body, and also in an open position, that is, The cane can be used as a chair by locking it in a rotating position that is approximately perpendicular to the axis of the cane body, but in the case of conventionally known ones,
Generally, as a mechanism for locking the handle member in both open and closed positions, a link mechanism, a cam mechanism, a screw mechanism, etc. are used separately from the support body that supports the handle member so that it can be rotated to open and close. Because it is connected to the stick body, the overall weight is heavy and the structure is complicated.
Carrying, folding, and unfolding operations were troublesome. In addition, some sticks of this type that do not have the above-mentioned mechanism are known, but in the case of this type of sticks, the material, shape, structure, assembly method, etc. of the constituent members, especially the handle member, are sufficient. Due to the lack of proper consideration, it is not durable or has safety issues when used as a chair,
Normally, when an adult weighing 50 kg or more sits on the seat, the load applied to the handle member, which converts into a seat, is quite large, and this load can cause damage to the handle member and result in injury. A problem arose. Another problem was that it was difficult to use when used as a stick.

In the figure, reference numeral 6 denotes a piercing part with a circular cross section and a tapered shape, which is fixed to the lower end of the stick main body 1 via a light metal tubular fitting 7. , an oval flange portion 8 is integrally formed with both. This flange part 8
When using a stick as a chair,
This is to prevent the stabbing part 6 from sinking deeply into the ground when the stabbing part 6 is stuck into the ground. As can be clearly seen from FIGS. 7 to 9, the handle Since the members 4, 4 are attached so as to be located at right angles to the opening/closing rotation direction, when the cane is used as a chair by diagonally sticking its piercing portion 6 into the ground, the flange portion 8 Since the long axis side of the cane contacts the ground, the footing becomes stable, and when the cane is carried or used as a cane with its handle members 4, 4 set in the closed position, the flange portion 8 so that both sides do not get in the way.

As mentioned above, when the handle members 4, 4 are in the closed position, their concave spherical surfaces 4C, 4C are in contact with the convex spherical surfaces 2A of the support 4 at their first engagement surfaces 4C', 4C'. 1 engages and abuts contact surfaces 2A', 2A',
Inward rotation of the handle members 4, 4 is prevented so that the handle members are locked in the upright position as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, allowing use of the cane as such.

Next, when the handle members 4, 4 are rotated about 90 degrees outward from the above-mentioned closed position, that is, in directions opposite to each other, the concave spherical surfaces 4C, 4C are turned into the second engaging surfaces 4C''. , 4C'', the convex spherical surface 2A' of the support body 2 comes into engagement contact with the second contact surfaces 2A'', 2A'', respectively, and prevents further rotational displacement of the handle members 4, 4. , the handle member is locked in the fully extended state in the open position as shown in FIGS. 7, 8 and 10, and is converted into a seat of a chair, so that the cane can be used as a seat. becomes possible. In this case, the engagement contact between the second engagement surfaces 4C'', 4C'' and the second abutment surfaces 2A'', 2A'' is spherical contact or curved surface contact, so the contact is stronger than in the case of point contact etc. The area is increased, and therefore, the handle members 4, 4, which are expanded and converted into the seat of the chair, can be stably and firmly held by the support body 2.

Each handle member is comprised of an annular frame having a generally linear grip portion and a bifurcated protrusion protruding outward from a base of the annular frame opposite to the grip portion; and the protrusion are formed tightly and integrally from a high-strength light alloy such as an aluminum alloy, and the wall thickness of the base portion is made relatively large, while the wall thickness of the grip portion is smaller than the wall thickness of the base portion. By adopting a smoothed structure, the durability and load-bearing capacity of the handle member are significantly improved compared to conventional ones, which not only improves safety when used as a chair, but also improves safety when used as a walking stick. Because the grip part is easy to grasp,
Easy to use as a stick. The side surface of the support body is formed into a substantially semicircular shape, and the circumferential surface thereof is formed into a convex spherical surface, while the cross-sectional shape of the convex spherical surface of the support body is formed on the outer peripheral portion of the annular frame base between the protrusions. and a concave spherical surface substantially matching the dimensions of the annular frame, and the concave spherical surface is formed in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the annular frame, and the concave spherical surface The bifurcated protrusions of each of the handle members are mounted on the support body and are pivotally connected by a pivot so that the handle members can be locked in the respective positions by making surface contact with each other at predetermined portions. This allows the handle member to be stably and firmly locked in the closed position and the open position.

In addition, each handle member is pivotally connected to the support by a radially elastic tubular shaft formed with a groove over its entire length.
Even when it is at an intermediate rotation angle position between the closed position and the open position, free rotation is prevented and it will not swing unnecessarily due to its own weight.

Also, the flange part is formed in an oval shape,
In addition, since the long axis of the cane is positioned perpendicular to the opening/closing rotation direction of the handle member, when the cane is used as a chair by sticking its piercing part into the ground diagonally, the flange part Since the long axis side of the cane touches the ground, not only is the footing stabilized, but when the cane is used as a cane with its handle member set in the closed position, there is a gap between both sides of the flange. The width of the ellipse is determined by the short axis of the ellipse, and is shorter than that of a circular object whose diameter is the long axis. The parts do not get in the way when you use it, and even if you bring it into a crowded means of transportation such as a train, it will not cause a nuisance to others. Furthermore, forming the flange portion in an oval shape can save material and is economical compared to forming the flange portion in a circular shape.
