し、針合わせ時には図に示すように三番車3と二
番車2の噛み合いを外すというものである。

な3bと二番歯車2cとの噛み合いが外れた後も
三番かな3bは回転せずにそのままの状態にいる
為、針回しをした後三番かな3bを再び二番歯車
2cに噛み合わせると三番かなの谷に二番歯車の
山が入るように二番歯車が回転してしまい、任意
の位置に合わせることができないということであ
る。例えば、二番歯車2cの歯数が60だとする
と、6度刻みにしか合わせられないということで
ある。

四番車10と噛み合うが、この時、三番歯車8c
と四番かな10bとの位相が合つていなければ、
三番車が回転して収まる。この例の場合、四番か
なの歯数は8、三番歯車は48、三番かなが6、
二番歯車が60となつているから、三番歯車が巻
真押込時に回転させられる角度は最大360÷48÷
2=3.75度であり、減速して伝達される二番車で
は、3.75÷60×6=0.375度となる。これは分針
の目盛で言うと16分の1目盛にしか過ぎない。分
針を合わせられるステツプで言うと、0.75度刻み
に合わせられるということであり、分目盛にして

1目盛であり、これは分針を任意の位置に合わせ
られると言つても良く、分針を秒針に合わせられ
ないといつた苦情はもはや発生しない。
