Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve dust collection efficiency, and at the same time, ensure long life at low cost by forming at least one of electrodes in a foam metal carrying a deodorant metal complex, in an air purifier designed to sandwich a filter in the form of an electret between the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:This air purifier consists of a pleated fiber cloth filter 2 in the form of an electret and air-permeable electrodes which sandwich the filter 2. At least, one of the electrodes is formed using a foamed metal carrying a deodorant metal complex. That is, one of the paired electrodes is an electrode 3 with a deodorizing function. Thus, the dust collection efficiency improves due to the reduction of a pressure loss consequent to the elimination of an independent deodorizing part and thereby to the narrowing of a gap between the electrodes. Further, the deodorizing speed becomes high, so that the long life of the device is ensured.

2. Description of the Related Art As a conventional air purifier using an electret filter, there is one shown in FIG. 7, for example. A pair of breathable electrodes 1, 1 made of a conductive cloth, net or porous body were provided opposite to each other, and formed in a pleated shape with electretized fibers as a dust collecting filter therebetween. A cloth-shaped electret filter 2 is arranged. Further, a porous filter 5 using activated carbon or the like is arranged between the electret filter 2 and the rear electrode 1 as a deodorizing material. Then, the air to be cleaned is passed through the electret filter 2, and the mechanical action due to the collision between the dust particles and the fibers forming the electret filter 2 and the dust particles charged by the electret charge, or even the non-charged state are polarized depending on the situation. When the air is raised, the air is cleaned by the two collecting actions, that is, the electric action of electrically contacting the fibers and the dust particles, and the deodorizing action of the porous filter 5 is obtained together with the collecting action. It has become. In order to compensate for the fact that the electret charges in the electret filter 2 decrease with time in such an air cleaning action, a high voltage is applied between the electrodes 1 and 1 by the power supply 4.

The conventional air purifier has the following problems.
In most cases, the dust collecting part and the deodorizing part were configured separately or completely independently. However, such an installation method has the following problems. (A) When the dust collecting section and the deodorizing section are incorporated in one unit, the total pressure loss increases due to the installation of the deodorizing section, leading to a reduction in the dust collecting efficiency. (B) A porous filter using activated carbon as a deodorizing material was often used, but generally this filter is a disposable type that is replaced when it becomes dirty, and the dust collecting part and the deodorizing part are maintained independently. Or, even if one of the functions still remains, it is inconvenient and uneconomical in that it has to be replaced once.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention has an air purifier having a structure in which a cloth-like filter formed in a pleated shape with electretized fibers is sandwiched between air-permeable electrodes. In the above, the gist is that at least one of the electrodes is formed of a foam metal supporting a metal complex having a deodorizing property.

With the above structure, the pressure loss with respect to the entire purifier is reduced and the distance between the electrodes is narrowed, so that the dust collection efficiency is improved. The deodorizing section using a metal complex has a faster deodorizing rate and a longer life than activated carbon.

As shown in FIG. 1, in this embodiment, one of the pair of electrodes is the electrode 3 having a deodorizing function. The electrode 3 with a deodorizing function is basically formed of a porous body of iron so as to obtain electric conductivity and air permeability. Then, in order to give the electrode 3 deodorizing performance, as an example, a porous iron body is immersed in an iron sulfate-ascorbic acid solution, and a metal complex (chelate compound) having a thickness of several 10 μm is generated on the iron surface. There is.

The air purifier of this embodiment is, as described above,
Since one of the pair of electrodes is the electrode 3 with the deodorizing function, the odorous component is adsorbed on the surface of the metal complex having a myriad of adsorption active points in the electrode 3 with the deodorizing function and then enters the porous body. Get in. At such a stage, the odorous components are oxidized and chemically converted into a substance having no odor to obtain a deodorizing effect. Furthermore, the electrons required to maintain the activity (deodorizing power) of the metal complex are constantly supplied during the process of oxidizing divalent iron to trivalent iron, and the adsorption active point is long-term. It is designed to stay active.

Next, the evaluation of the performance including both of the above-mentioned embodiments will be described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6 in comparison with a conventional example using an activated carbon filter as a deodorizing material. In these figures, the white circles show the characteristics of this embodiment, and the black circles show the characteristics of the conventional example. First, FIG. 6 (a)
The results of evaluation of deodorizing performance (residual rate%) for four odors represented by cigarette odor are shown in (d). The figure (a) shows the deodorizing performance of isoprene (initial concentration 50 ppm).
The figure (b) is the deodorizing performance of acetaldehyde (initial concentration 20 ppm), the figure (c) is the deodorizing performance of hydrogen sulfide (initial concentration 3 ppm), and the figure (d) is ammonia (initial concentration 15 ppm).
) Shows the deodorizing performance. From the evaluation results, the deodorizing performance of the air purifier of this example has a longer life and a faster deodorizing rate than those using the activated carbon filter. To summarize the results, in the air purifier of the present embodiment, the use of the electrode 3 with the deodorizing function reduces the pressure loss (see FIG. 3) and also reduces the distance between the electrodes, which improves the dust collection efficiency. (See FIG. 4), the deodorizing performance is further improved (see FIG. 5).

As described above, according to the present invention,
Since at least one of the electrodes is a foam metal supporting a metal complex having a deodorizing property, there is no independent deodorizing portion, the pressure loss is reduced, and the distance between the electrodes is narrowed to improve the dust collection efficiency. At the same time, the cost can be reduced. In addition, the deodorizing speed is faster than that of the one using activated carbon, and the life can be extended.
