Abstract

PURPOSE:To hold continuity against compression by connecting different-sized columns by way of an end plate and mounting a reinforcing material, such as angle steel, to a smaller-sized column. CONSTITUTION:An end plate 4 is mounted to an end face of a larger-sized column 2 by means of welding or the like where an angle bar 6, which forms an outer periphery identical to the outer periphery of the larger-sized column 2, integrated with a smaller-sized column 1, is welded to the smaller-sized column 1. An end plate 3 is further mounted to the end faces of the smaller-sized column 1 and the angle bar 6. The end plate 3 and an end plate 4 are fixedly mounted to the columns with a bolt 5 so as to connect the columns 1 and 2. It is, therefore, possible to enhance compression resistance of a reinforcing material at its joint section.
