Generally, inside a healthy tooth, there is a pulp cavity surrounded by relatively thick dentin (hard tissue), and the pulp cavity is filled with a soft tissue mass.
This type of soft tissue mass is called the dental pulp, and is responsible for tooth development, nutrition, and sensation. By the way, so-called dental caries (caries or dental caries)
When the symptoms have progressed to a certain degree, the above-mentioned pulp may be removed for treatment. This type of pulp removal, or pulp extraction, has traditionally been performed by K.
It was customary to perform this mechanically using a rod-shaped dental instrument such as a file, reamer, or broach.

However, since the pulp is located in a special location inside or deep inside the tooth in the oral cavity, it requires considerable skill to remove it by hand using the rod-shaped dental instruments mentioned above. Even dentists had to operate the instruments with great care. This invention addresses the above-mentioned actual situation regarding dental pulp extraction, and uses negative pressure or vacuum pressure to remove the pulp extremely easily without requiring much skill or effort. In order to achieve the above object, the suction pulp extraction instrument according to the present invention is made of an elastic member that can come into contact with the surface of the tooth surrounding the dental pulp or its surroundings, and can keep the pulp cavity where the dental pulp exists in an airtight state. It is characterized by comprising an abutment member and a suction tube whose one end is passed through the abutment member and communicates the inside of the dental pulp cavity with a negative pressure source or a vacuum pressure source. Here, as the negative pressure source or vacuum source, for example, a vacuum pump is used, but in that case, the other end of the suction tube is not directly connected to the pump, but between the pump and the suction tube, for example. A bottle or container for collecting pulp is provided, and the suction tube is connected to the pump through this kind of container.

According to the above configuration, by bringing the abutting member made of an elastic member into contact with the surface of the tooth surrounding the dental pulp to be removed or its surrounding area, the pulp cavity where the dental pulp exists is kept in an airtight state. It can be done. In this case, one end of the suction tube is passed through the abutment member, and the inside of the dental pulp cavity is communicated with a negative pressure source or a vacuum pressure source through the suction tube. When the pressure source is activated, the inside of the dental pulp cavity is suctioned to a predetermined negative or vacuum pressure. As a result, the soft dental pulp existing in the pulp cavity or deeper therein is suctioned through the suction tube and reliably removed.

Examples of the present invention will be described below. FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of the present invention, and a suction pulp removal instrument 1 according to this embodiment includes a contact member 2 made of an elastic member such as rubber, and one end 3a of the contact member 2. It is composed of a metal suction tube 3 connected to the suction tube 3. The abutting member 2 is formed in a suction cup or dish shape so that it can be brought into contact with the surface (in the example, the upper surface) 5a of the tooth 5 where the dental pulp 4 to be removed is present,
A cylindrical insertion portion 2a through which one end portion 3a of the suction tube 3 can be inserted is provided at the center thereof. As shown in the figure, when one side 2b of the contact member 2 is brought into contact with the surface 5a of the tooth 5 and pressed slightly, the one side 2b comes into close contact with the surface 5a of the tooth 5. On the other hand, the suction tube 3 is bent into an L shape in the illustrated example, and one end 3a thereof is connected to the insertion portion 2a of the abutting member 2.
The other end 3b is connected to the collection bottle 7 via a first connecting pipe 6 made of, for example, a rubber tube or a plastic tube. A rubber stopper 8 is attached to the mouth of the collection bottle 7, and two tubes 9 and 10, each of which has a lower end positioned at the upper part of the collection bottle 7, are passed through the stopper 8. The first connecting pipe 6 is connected to one of the pipes 9.
However, since the second connecting pipes 12 each having one end connected to the vacuum pump 11 are connected to the other pipe 10, when the contact member 2 is brought into close contact with the tooth 5 as shown in the figure, the tooth The dental pulp cavity 5b of No. 5 and the vacuum pump 11 are communicated with each other. Note that a ring-shaped sealing member 1 made of, for example, rubber is attached to the other end 3b of the suction pipe 3 in order to prevent pressure from being released from the connection part with the first connecting pipe 6.
3 and 13 are installed. According to the above configuration, one end (lower end in the illustrated example) of the insertion part 2a of the abutment member 2 or the suction tube 3 is located in the pulp cavity 5b of the tooth 5 surrounding the dental pulp 4 to be removed. By bringing one side 2b of the abutting member 2 into contact with the surface 5a of the tooth 5 and pressing slightly if necessary, the one side 2b of the abutting member 2 comes into close contact with the surface 5a of the tooth 5, and the tooth 5 is kept in an airtight state, and the pulp cavity 5b is
The inside is connected to a vacuum pump 11 via a suction pipe 3, a first connecting pipe 6, a collection bottle 7, and the like. Therefore, when the vacuum pump 11 is operated in this state, the pressure inside the pulp cavity 5b is reduced, and the pulp 4 therein is sucked from one end of the suction tube 3 into the tube 3, and further inside the tube 3. The particles are then collected in the collection bin 7. Thereby, the soft pulp 4 existing in the pulp cavity 5b and further back therein is reliably removed. As shown in FIG. 2, if a part 15c of the tooth 15 to be pulped is missing, the missing part 15c is filled with cement or the like and then a hole leading to the pulp cavity 15b is opened. It can be used in the same manner as in FIG. 1 by opening the gap 15d and bringing the abutment member into close contact with the surface of the tooth 15 in this state. Furthermore, in the above embodiment, a collection bottle 7 was provided between the suction pulp extraction instrument 1 and the vacuum pump 11 in order to collect the pulp 4 sucked through the suction pulp removal instrument 1.
Instead of providing such a bottle, a filter or the like for collecting pulp may be provided at an appropriate location in the passage from the suction pulp extraction instrument 1 to the vacuum pump 7. Furthermore, if it is desired to interrupt the suction action by the vacuum pump 11, the pump itself may be stopped by turning off the switch of the pump 11.
As a means to quickly perform this type of interruption operation at hand, for example, an ON/OFF switch for the vacuum pump may be installed at an appropriate position on the first connecting pipe 6, or a manual valve that opens the pump side to the atmosphere. may be provided. Furthermore, although the first embodiment is used for pulp extraction of so-called molar teeth such as molars and premolars, the suction pulp extraction instrument of the present invention is not limited to such a case. For example, the suction pulp extraction instrument 21 of the second embodiment shown in FIG. 3 and the suction pulp extraction instrument 31 of the third embodiment shown in FIG.
5 (FIG. 3) and lower front teeth 35 (FIG. 4). In that case, the shapes of the abutting members 22, 32 and suction tubes 23, 33 in each suction pulp removal instrument 21, 31, or the abutting members 22, 32
The angle at which the suction tubes 23, 33 are inserted may be determined depending on the position of the teeth 25, 35 in the oral cavity and the shape of their surfaces or surrounding areas.

As described above, according to the suction pulp extraction instrument of the present invention, the abutment member is brought into close contact with the surface of the tooth surrounding the pulp to be removed or its surrounding area, and the inside of the pulp cavity is suctioned through the suction tube. Since the dental pulp existing in the pulp cavity or deep inside the tooth can be reliably removed by just doing this, even non-skilled dentists can perform this type of pulp removal work extremely quickly and easily.
