This abrasion sensor is fixed to the backing metal by driving the surface of the backing metal so that a caulking boss portion is provided on the backside, and a hole formed in the abrasion sensor is fitted into the caulking boss portion, and the sensor is fixed to the backing metal by caulking. The wear sensor has a structure that extends a predetermined distance from the back side of the back metal to the front side through the outside of the side surface near the caulking boss, and when the lining wears out a predetermined amount, the tip is dragged by the disk and makes noise. occurs and detects wear.

Conventionally, as shown in FIG. 5, the caulking boss portion of the back metal is produced by arranging a mold 4 having a molding portion for forming the caulking boss portion 3 on the back surface 2 side of the back metal 1.
By driving a punch 6 from the front surface 5 side with a press or the like, a part of the back metal 1 is plastically deformed and extruded into the mold 4 to be formed. In this formation, the volume of the part 7 driven in by the punch 6 (hereinafter referred to as the driven part) is the same as the volume extruded into the mold 4, so the driven part 7 and the caulking boss part 3 are the fifth part. The shape is as shown in FIGS. 8 to 8.

When storing or transporting the backing metals 1 before molding the lining, the crimping boss 3 cannot be inserted into the driving part 7 with the shape shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, and In the case shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the caulking boss portion 3 does not completely enter the driving portion 7 in the depth direction, so that the caulking boss portion 3 is bulky and stacked in an unstable manner. Therefore, there are problems in that a large storage space is required, and the cargo tends to collapse, making storage and transportation operations difficult.

(Means for solving the problem) The pad for a disk brake of the present invention is a pad for a disk brake which is constructed by hammering in the surface of a backing metal and providing a protruding crimping boss on the backing metal, and fitting and fixing a lining wear detection sensor which extends from the backing metal side to the front side, passing outside the side view of the backing metal near the crimping boss, into the crimping boss and crimping it, wherein the volume of the crimping boss protruding from the backing metal is formed to be smaller than the volume of the hammered in surface so that when the backing metals are overlapped before the lining wear detection sensor is fixed, the crimping boss protruding from the backing metal is inserted into the hammered in portion of one backing metal, and this volume difference is made to bulge from the side surface near the crimping boss of the backing metal, and further, the lining wear detection sensor is formed so as to be positioned away from the bulging portion on the side surface of the backing metal.

(Function) According to this configuration, by bulging out the side surface near where the caulking boss is formed, the volume of the caulking boss protruding from the back surface can be made smaller than the volume of driving the front surface. The caulking boss portion can be formed so that it can be completely inserted into the driven portion. Therefore, the back metals can be stacked one on top of the other without any gaps.

In addition, by locating the wear sensor away from the bulge on the side of the back metal, it is possible to prevent the noise generated by the side of the back metal from becoming small when detecting wear, thereby ensuring that the wear of the lining is detected. can be informed. Furthermore, in the past, when the wear sensor was dragged by the disk and collided with the back metal, the edges of the back metal could bend or break, making it impossible to reliably detect wear, but the bulging part is smooth. Since the wear sensor has a curved shape, it can be prevented from being bent or damaged even if the wear sensor is dragged by the disk and collides with it.

Back metal 10 of pad 9 where wear sensor 8 is provided
, before molding the lining 11,
A caulking boss portion 13 is formed in order to caulk and fix the wear sensor 8 to the abrasion sensor 2 . This caulking boss part 13 is made by placing a mold (not shown) having a molding part for forming the caulking boss part 13 on the back side 12 side of the back metal 10, and pressing a punch (not shown) from the front side 14 side. A part of the backing metal 10 is plastically deformed by being driven into the molding die by pushing it out to the mold side.

When molding the caulking boss part 13, before fixing the wear sensor 8, when the backing metals 10 are overlapped, the caulking boss part of one backing metal can be inserted into the driven part of the other backing metal. In addition, the diameter d 1 and the depth h 1 of the driving portion 15 are made larger than the diameter d 2 and the height h 2 of the caulking boss portion 13. (d 1 > d 2 , h 1 > h 2 ). As a result, the volume of the caulking boss portion 13 protruding from the front surface 14 becomes smaller than the volume into which the back surface 12 is driven.
The volume is compensated for by bulging from the side surface near 3 (see Figures 3 and 4, the bulge is 16
).

Then, the hole 17 formed in the wear sensor 8 is fitted into the caulking boss portion 13 formed, and
By crushing the caulking boss portion 13 with a press or the like, the wear sensor 8 is firmly fixed to the back metal 10 by caulking (the state shown in FIG. 1). Also, back money 1
The abrasion sensor 8 fixed at 0 has a wear detection part 17 formed in a shape that extends from the back surface 12 side of the back metal 10 to the front surface 14 side at a position away from the bulged portion 16 on the side surface of the back metal 10 when the wear sensor 8 is fixed. has been done.

以上の構成にかかる作用を説明する。 The effects of the above configuration will be explained.

Before fixing the wear sensor 8 to the back metal 10, the diameter d 2 and height h 2 of the caulking boss portion 13 are smaller than the diameter d 1 and depth h 1 of the driven portion 15, so when stacked, they overlap without any gaps. Can be matched. Therefore, less space is required for storage and transportation, and the cargo is less likely to collapse, making storage and transportation operations easier.

In addition, when this pad 9 is attached to a disc brake, the wear detection part 17 of the wear sensor 8 is provided so as not to come into contact with the bulged part 16 on the side surface, and when detecting wear, the wear detection part 17 is always placed on the side surface of the back plate 10. Because the sound that is regulated does not become smaller,
It is possible to reliably notify the wear of the lining 11. In addition, since the bulging portion 16 has a smooth curved shape, even if the wear detection portion 17 is dragged by the disk and collides with the bulging portion 16, it is prevented from bending or being damaged, and the lining is reliably fixed. 1
1 wear can be detected.

(Effects of the invention) As explained in detail above, in this invention, when the backing metals are overlapped before fixing the wear sensor, the caulking boss part is completely inserted into the driven part, so they overlap without any gaps. It requires less space for storage and transportation, and is easier to operate.

Furthermore, since the wear sensor is located away from the bulge on the side of the back metal for volume compensation, wear can be detected reliably and the wear sensor will not collide with the back metal and be damaged. can be prevented and the reliability of the wear sensor can be increased.
