Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep the properties of an antimicrobial-treated wood by a method wherein a wood having a large number of capillaries in its xylem tissue is dipped in water solution prepared by diluting water solution of silver thiosulfato complex salt by pure water so that the silver complex acid salt adheres to the surface of the wood and the inner surfaces of the capillaries. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble silver salt, such as silver acetate, is added by the amount of 100 pts.wt. to chlorine-free pure water to be dissolved. To this solution, 450 pts.wt. of mixture of sodium sulfite and sodium hydrogensulfite and 300 pts.wt. of water-soluble salt of sodium thiosulfato are successively mixed by stirring to be taken into water solution of silver thiosulfato complex salt.
