[Detailed description of the invention] [Field of industrial application] The present invention relates to an oil seal that seals the inside and outside of mutually rotating members such as bearings, and specifically relates to improving the shape of a sliding seal lip. It is.

Conventionally, in order to obtain low sliding torque, oil seals have been developed with various shapes and self-lubricating properties on the sliding lip surface.

以下、図面を参照しつつ詳述する。 A detailed description will be given below with reference to the drawings.

This shape is shown in Fig. 3.
Oil seal A' like No. 166171 is becoming common. This oil seal A' is provided with fine irregularities 4 on the sliding seal corner side, and the fine irregularities 4 contain an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to generate fluid lubrication over the entire surface of the sliding part. We expect good wear resistance and lubricity depending on the conditions.

However, in the oil seal A', the contact area is greatly reduced by the unevenness 4 with respect to the contact pressure of the sliding lip portion 1, so it is difficult to obtain a strong sealing effect even at low rotational torque. Moreover, naturally, this small contact area is inferior in abrasion resistance, and has many disadvantages, such as causing the unevenness 4 to disappear in a short time, lowering the lubrication ability and increasing the rotational torque.

In view of these drawbacks, the object of the present invention is to provide an oil seal that permanently provides a good self-lubricating effect and can also respond to internal and external pressure changes.

As shown in FIG. 1, the present invention is an oil seal A made of an elastic body a having a reinforcing material 5;
It is characterized in that a plug 3 made of a porous material such as sponge material or felt material is inserted into the small hole 2.

That is, the small hole 2 provided in the sliding lip portion 1 of the present invention is formed during or after the molding of the oil seal A, and its shape is a through hole that communicates with both the inside and outside of the oil seal A. This is a preferable structure because it more effectively exhibits the effects described below. When the plug 3 that fits into the small hole 2 is made of a sponge material, the desired shape is obtained by foaming synthetic rubber or synthetic resin.
Felt material is easy to shape because it is a fiber material with good shapeability. When inserting and installing the plug 3, it is important to insert the plug 3 so that the circular shape of the contact peripheral surface of the sliding lip portion 1 is not significantly damaged by the plug 3, as shown in FIG.

In this way, the sliding lip 1 with the stopper 3 attached is
By impregnating the plug 3 with lubricating oil or grease during operation, sufficient lubricant can be supplied to the sliding surface. Since it is installed in the hole 2, the lubricating oil inside the bearing gradually impregnates and is supplied without being exhausted, thereby providing permanent lubrication.

In addition, during this operation, the small holes 2 and plugs 3 that communicate with the inside and outside of the bearing part act as ventilation paths to relieve pressure against the increasing internal pressure of the bearing part, thereby preventing deformation of the sliding lip part 1 due to pressure. A high sealing force can be maintained.

In carrying out the present invention, the small hole 2 formed in the sliding lip 1 can be formed into various shapes such as a cylinder, a prism, or other deformed shapes, and the corresponding plug 3 can also be formed as shown in Fig. 2a. Various shapes can be implemented, such as a cylindrical plug 3a shown in FIG. 2, a stepped cylindrical plug 3b shown in FIG.

As explained above, the present invention provides a self-lubricating mechanism to the seal lip that performs the sealing action, greatly reducing the sliding rotational torque, and making it possible to flexibly respond to internal and external pressure. This is a revolutionary oil seal.
