Abstract

PURPOSE:To intend less variation and high precision of a bending angle at the tips of set comb-type teeth by giving age hardening treatment to a pin material which is obtained by bending the tips of the comb-type teeth using a mill-hardened material. CONSTITUTION:A BeCu mill-hardened material is formed by etching into comb- type teeth. The tips of the comb-type teeth are bent and made into a pin material 13. The pin material 13 is given heat treatment and precipitation-hardened. The pin material 13 is temporarily molded with liquid crystal polymer. Then, the temporarily molded is polymerized into a pin material 16 which is approximated to the pin material 13 in shape, and really molded with liquid crystal polymer 17. The rear end is cut into a required length and finally ground and tapered to manufacture a contact pin.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in order to manufacture a contact pin for the above-mentioned purpose, a strip 1 made of BeCu (Be1.8 to 2.0%) shown in FIG. 6 is etched or pressed to form a comb tooth as shown in FIG. Shape, then bend the tips of the comb teeth 2 to form an internal angle of 120 ° as shown in FIG.
Aged at 315 ° C for 2 hours, then Au-plated, and then put the two sheets on top of each other, as shown in Fig. 9.
After molding with resin 3, as shown in FIG. 10, the base end is cut into a required length, and finally the rear end is polished and a taper 4 is attached to form a contact pin 5.

By the way, the above manufacturing method uses BeCu.
Since (Be 1.8 to 2.0%) has a low hardness of Hv 210, heat treatment is performed to make it hard, but at that time, the bending angle of the tip of the comb tooth 2 that has been bent is varied due to spring back. In addition, the mold wraps around and peels off, which causes foreign matter to intervene and dust to accumulate. Therefore, the contact pin 5 cannot secure a stable contact during use.

As described above, in the method for manufacturing a contact pin according to the present invention, the mill hardened material (heat treated) is used to age the pin material obtained by bending the tips of the comb teeth to obtain the required hardness. The hardness can be obtained, and the variation in the bending angle of the set tip of the comb teeth is extremely small, and the accuracy is high. When the age hardening treatment temperature is lower than 290 ° C, the hardness becomes Hv 380 or less, and when it exceeds 310 ° C, the hardness becomes Hv 420.
From the above, 290 to 310 ° C is preferable, and the age hardening treatment time is optimally 2 hours.

As described above, according to the method of manufacturing a contact pin of the present invention, it is possible to obtain a highly accurate contact pin having a predetermined hardness and a very small variation in the bending angle of the tip end portions of the set comb teeth. Be done. In addition, since the contact pin is made by molding in two steps, there is no wraparound of the liquid crystal polymer to the tip of the comb teeth and no peeling from the pin material, and dimensional accuracy can be maintained and good quality can be obtained. When used as a (handler), stable contact can be secured.
