Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent erroneously recording a deteriorated magnetic tape by providing a bar code on the surface of each cassette case for the purpose of discriminating it individually and reading the bar code and then displaying the number of used times of its magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:Each magnetic tape is discriminated by a bar code detecting part 8 with a bar code 2 provided on this magnetic tape 1 inserted into a VTR and its individual number of used times and cumulative used hours are read out of a memory 13 in a microcomputer system 10, and then one is added to a value of used times by a using frequency integrator 11. Afterward, individual cumulative hours in accordance with a time required for video recording/ reproducing on the magnetic tape are added by a used cumulative hour adder 12. ープの録画、再生に要した時間に応じて各々の累積時間
を使用累積時間加算器12で加算して行く。この使用回
数、使用累積時間をモニターに表示させる時は、制御シ
ステム14で現時点での使用回数、使用累積時間を計算
し、表示回路16で映像信号回路15からの映像信号と
重ね合わせて信号出力端子17より出力する。
