Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively and easily fix a connector without using a fixing member without limiting an effective area of a periphery of the connector and to improve operability at the time of mounting the connector. CONSTITUTION:A connector 1 having recesses 2a, 3a on both end faces is mounted in a housing for an electric device. The housing has a window 40a formed at a metal plate 40 of an end face of the housing and having substantially the same width as a distance between bottoms of the recesses 2a and 3a of the connector 1, and protrusions 7 formed at both ends of the window 40a. The thicknesses of the protrusions 7 are substantially the same as the widths of the recesses 2a, 3a of the connector 1. Cutouts 8 are so made in the upper and lower surfaces of the protrusion 7 that the protrusion 7 is deformable in its thickness direction.

2. Description of the Related Art Usually, an electric device is housed in a housing, and a connector for connecting the electric device to an external device or a power source is attached to an end surface of the housing. FIG. 9 is a rear perspective view of a general connector. The connector 1 is a rectangular parallelepiped integrally molded with resin, and has a hole 1a on the back surface thereof, into which a wiring cord or the like can be attached. A mounting hole (not shown) for a plug or the like is also formed on the front surface of the connector 1 corresponding to the hole 1a.

However, the above method has the following problems. That is, a space for moving the connector 1 in the horizontal direction is required around the attached connector 1, specifically, on the substrate 5. Therefore, the effective area where the members can be installed on the substrate 5 is reduced by the moving space of the connector 1, and the restrictions on the members to be installed are increased.

Further, when the taper portions 2b and 3b are pushed into the window portion 4a of the sheet metal 4, it is necessary to push them with a considerably strong force against the elastic force of the ears 2a and 3a. Therefore, workability at the time of attaching the connector was not good.

Therefore, as a method of mounting the connector to solve such a problem, a method of inserting the connector 1 from above the window portion 4a as shown in FIG. 12 has been considered. According to this mounting method, the movement space of the connector 1 when mounting the connector 1 can be set above the sheet metal 4. Therefore, it is not necessary to limit the effective area on the substrate 5.

Moreover, since the connector 1 is simply inserted from above, a strong force against the elastic force of the ears 2 and 3 is not required. Therefore, the connector 1 can be easily attached to the sheet metal 4, and excellent workability can be secured.

However, when the thickness of the sheet metal 4 is thinner than the recesses 2a, 3a of the ears 2, 3, the pressing method from the front (FIG. 10 and FIG. 11) may be applied from above. There were the following problems regardless of the insertion method (Fig. 12).

That is, as shown in FIG. 13, the recesses 2a,
Since there is a gap between the metal plate 3a and the metal plate 4, the connector 1 is wobbled. In order to eliminate such a defect,
As shown in FIG. 4, another fixing sheet metal 6 is formed in the recesses 2a and 3a.
The connector 1 had to be pressed by inserting it into the gap between the metal plate 4 and the metal plate 4. The work of inserting such a fixing member deteriorates the workability. Further, when the sheet metal 6 is the lid of the sheet metal 4 formed in a box shape, there is a problem that the workability is poor when the electric device is tested through the connector 1.

As described above, in the case of the electric device to which the connector is attached, the effective area around the connector is largely restricted, and in addition, when a strong force is required at the time of attachment or to prevent the connector from wobbling. When using the fixing member, workability deteriorated.

In the present invention having the above-mentioned structure, the connector is inserted into the housing from the upper side of the window while the recess of the connector and the projection on the window side are made to correspond to each other. Can be installed. Therefore, the connector moving space can be set above the housing, and the effective area around the connector in the housing does not decrease.

Further, since the connector is simply inserted from above, the connector can be easily attached to the housing side without a strong force. Further, when the connector is attached, the convex portion comes into contact with the connector, but since the thickness of the convex portion is set to be substantially the same as the width of the concave portion of the connector, the connector does not wobble.

Further, in the present invention as set forth in claim 2, since the notch is formed, when the connector is inserted, the convex portion is deformed in the thickness direction and the width of the convex portion is reduced to insert the connector. It is easy to be beaten. Furthermore, after inserting the connector, a reaction force acts on the connector to prevent the connector from wobbling.

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the present embodiment is a case consisting of an upper case 9 and a lower case 10, in which a substrate 50 is arranged. Lower case 1
The side surface of 0 is composed of a metal plate 40, and a window 40a to which the connector 1 is attached is formed therein. The window 40a has a width substantially equal to the distance between the bottoms of the recesses 2a and 3a in the connector 1. The upper case 9 is provided so as to press the connector 1 from above.

As shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, two convex portions 7 are formed on the left and right edges of the window 40a.
This convex portion 7 is punched out from the metal plate 40 in the front side in a hemispherical shape. The thickness dimension of the convex portion 7 is set to be substantially the same as the width dimension of the concave portions 2a and 3a of the connector 1. Further, slit-shaped notches 8 are cut in the left and right directions above and below the convex portion 7.

The operation of the electric device casing having the above-described structure is as follows. That is, as shown in FIG.
The connector 1 can be attached to the window 40a by inserting the connector 1 from above the window 40a while making the recesses 2a and 3a of the connector 1 correspond to the protrusions 7. Therefore, the moving space of the connector 1 can be set above the sheet metal 40, and it is not necessary to limit the effective area for the member to be installed on the substrate 50.

Further, since the connector 1 is only inserted from above, a strong force against the elastic force of the ears 2 and 3 is not required. Therefore, the connector 1 can be easily attached to the sheet metal 40. Furthermore, since the convex portion 7 has a hemispherical shape, it has a taper that draws a gentle arc not only in the vertical direction in which the connector 1 is inserted but also in the horizontal direction.
Therefore, even if the connector 1 is slightly shifted to the left or right when it is inserted, the connector 1 can be mounted smoothly. Moreover, since the notch 8 is formed, the protrusion 7 itself has elasticity in the horizontal direction, and when the connector 1 is inserted, the protrusion 7 is pushed as shown in FIG. Convex part 7
Is reduced to X1 and the connector 1 is easily inserted.

After the insertion of the connector 1, as shown in FIG. 8, a reaction force acts on the connector 1 and the width of the convex portion 7 becomes X2.
The connector 1 can be prevented from wobbling because it spreads over the entire length. Moreover, in this embodiment, as shown in FIG.
Since the upper case 9 is provided above the connector 1, the connector 1 cannot be pulled out upward.

As described above, according to the electric apparatus casing of this embodiment, the effective area of the substrate 50 is not limited, and the connector 1 can be reliably and easily used without using a fixing metal plate or the like. Since it can be fixed, workability at the time of attaching the connector 1 is significantly improved.

The electric device casing according to the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, but the shape, size, etc. of each member can be changed appropriately. It is also good on the top. Further, the upper case 9 also need not be provided in particular.

As described above, according to the housing for an electric device of the present invention, the projection is provided in the window formed on the end face of the housing, and the connector is attached from above the window to thereby make the connector. Since the notch is formed in the vicinity of the convex portion without limiting the effective area around the connector, the connector can be easily inserted, and the connector can be securely fixed without using a fixing member. Installation work has been greatly improved.
