た例を示し、転写胴2ではクランプ5により画像受容体
を保持した例を示した。画像形成材料の感光性層に画像
露光により形成された画像は、圧胴と転写胴との間で形
成されたニップで加温下で画像受容体に転写される。転
写胴表面の凹凸は、紙のような薄い画像受容体の凹凸と
なり、美麗な転写画像を得ることを困難ならしめる。ま
た多色の転写画像を得ようとする場合には、画像受容体
の凹凸に起因した見当狂いを生じるため、美麗な多色転
写画像が得られない。本発明は、このような問題をアル
ミニウム製薄板を転写胴表面に周着することにより、上
記の問題を解決した。また本発明は使用に伴い生じるア
ルミニウム製薄板の表面あれを、簡易なアルミニウム製
薄板の周着装置を提供することにより解決した。アルミ
ニウム製薄板は、0.1〜1mm、好ましくは0.2〜
0.5mm厚さのものが好ましく使用される。アルミニ
ウム製薄板は、薄いほうが、巻き易く、胴本体表面への
密着性がよく、かつ伝熱性にも優れている。しかしあま
りにも薄いと、強度面で問題が生じるので好ましくな
