Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a hood seal which can be simultaneously extruded easily together with sponge rubber forming a hollow seal section, is excellent in thermal stability, and in installation operating performance for a body installing section while being furnished with a base section high in hardness. CONSTITUTION:This is a hood seal which has a spongy hollow seal section 20 integrally combined with the upper surface of its plate base section 10 made of crosslinked polyolefin 15 or fiber mixed crosslinked polyolefin 16 (by way of a rubber plate or no rubber plate) with its body installing section 11 left in one side of the base section.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a bonnet seal structure, as shown in FIG. 2, a mounting portion 11 for attaching to a body 30 is left on one side of a plate-shaped base portion 10 made of solid rubber, and a side end on the other side is provided. A sponge-like hollow seal portion 20 is integrally connected to the upper surface, but as a countermeasure against the recent labor shortage (robotization), extrudability is not deteriorated and the attachment to the body 30 is facilitated. Therefore, the hardness of the mounting portion 11 is relatively soft from 70 (JISA) to 90
(JISA) and the demand for hardening is increasing. In response to this demand, the applicant has shown that at least a part of the base 10 is made of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene 13 as shown in FIGS.
Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene 13
It has already been proposed to use high-density polyolefin 14 such as high-density polyethylene or polypropyne instead of the above.

However, due to the recent widespread use of high-temperature and high-speed vulcanization of rubber, sponge, etc., high-density polyolefin 14
Can be applied only to the shape of FIG. 5 because it adheres to the belt in the vulcanizing furnace, and expensive ultra high molecular weight polyethylene 13 must be used for the shapes of FIGS. 3, 4 and 6. There is a problem that you cannot get it.

The problem to be solved by the invention is that at least a part of the base portion 10 is replaced with the high-density polyolefin 14 due to the recent widespread use of high-temperature high-speed vulcanization of rubber, sponge, etc. High-density polyolefin 14
Since it adheres to the belt in the vulcanization furnace, it can be applied only to the shape shown in FIG. 5, and therefore the expensive ultra high molecular weight polyethylene 13 should be used for the shapes shown in FIGS. It is unavoidable.

EXAMPLE An example of the first invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1, 7 and 8. Reference numeral 10 denotes a plate-like base portion, which is a cross-linked polyolefin 15 such as a cross-linked polyethylene / polypropylene or a fiber for the polyolefin. It consists of embedded crosslinked polyolefin 16 containing fibers. Reference numeral 20 denotes a sponge-like hollow seal portion, which is integrally connected to the upper surface of the base portion 10 except for the attachment portion 11 to the body 30. Reference numeral 12 is an insertion hole of a clip (not shown) opened in the mounting portion 11.

To explain the operation, the crosslinked polyolefin 15 used in the present invention is easy to co-extrude with the sponge rubber forming the hollow seal portion 20 and continuously vulcanized (thus no adhesive is required). Therefore, the hardness of the body mounting portion 11 of the base portion 10 is increased, the mounting workability is remarkably improved, and its specific gravity is higher than that of solid rubber.
Small and lightweight. Further, regarding thermal stability, the shrinkage rate when heating a pipe-shaped test piece having a length of 10 cm is as shown in the table below, and it can be seen that the crosslinked polyolefin 15 is superior to the ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene 13 in thermal stability. ..
