【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 現像剤を収容する現像剤容器と、該現像
剤容器内の現像剤を担持しながら搬送する現像剤担持体
と、該現像剤担持体に接触することによって該現像剤担
持体に担持されている現像剤を所定の層厚に規制しかつ
摩擦帯電させる現像剤層規制部材と、一部分が上記現像
剤層規制部材の上記現像剤担持体との接触端部に重ね合
わされ、上記現像剤担持体と上記現像剤容器との間の隙
間から外部への上記現像剤の漏れを防止するシール部材
とを備える現像装置において、上記シール部材は、上記
現像剤層規制部材の接触端部を受け入れている凹状の段
部が設けられている弾性部材からなることを特徴とする
現像装置。
