BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In pipe joints and the like, packing that provides a seal between pipe bodies and the like is indispensable, and various packings have been proposed in the past. However, these conventional packings are generally held in a predetermined setting position by simply being accommodated in the housing in which they are housed, and there is no further connection between the packing and the housing. It does not have an engaging structure.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the conventional conventional devices as described above, it is necessary to increase the depth of the receiving recess of the housing for holding the packing in a predetermined position in order to stably hold the packing. This is necessary, and the structure of the housing inevitably becomes quite bulky, and when attaching it to the pipe body, the diameter of the packing is expanded and the split housing is attached to the pipe body, and then the divided housing is attached to the packing. Since these divided housings are attached to the outside and tightened and fixed with bolts, etc., even if the packing cross-sectional area is small, there are disadvantages in terms of the size of the housing and the number of component parts, and the number of parts is large, making it difficult to It protrudes greatly from the circumferential surface of the body.

As a result of the above, cost increases are unavoidable, and the number of man-hours required for attachment and detachment increases, as well as the need for the housing to be properly engaged or tightened with the pipe body, resulting in a gap between the connecting pipe body and the housing. This means that sufficient followability against bending, expansion and contraction, etc., cannot be obtained. Disadvantages such as the packing being caught between the tube and the housing due to the bending of the tube after it is tightly fixed to the tube and being damaged cannot be avoided.

In the above-mentioned Utility Model Publication No. 52-6816, if the lip is large and thick, it is not easy to set the packing in the socket, and it is also not easy to insert the pipe to be connected. If the packing is made smaller and thinner, the set state of the packing in the socket is not stabilized, and there is a disadvantage that it may come out of the set position when the pipe to be connected is inserted.

By forming a boundary part in the intermediate part corresponding to the recess depth of the recessed part 13 of the joint surface for the pipe to be connected, and forming the base joint surface 18a with a relatively gentle slope, the base joint surface 18a portion is covered. In the process of inserting the joining pipe, the packing does not shift its position due to the pushing operation, and the packing gradually expands in diameter to stabilize the setting relationship within the housing.

After the above process, the pipe to be connected is inserted into the lip-side joining surface 18b with a steeper slope, and the lip portion 11 is strongly pushed out in the outer diameter direction, forming an accurate sealing relationship with the outer surface of the pipe to be connected. However, in this case, the connected pipe and lip pipe 1
1, the packing will not fluctuate because the proximal end of the packing is set in a stable state with respect to the housing during the preceding insertion process at the base joint surface 18a. Also, no unnatural residual stress is applied to the packing.

In other words, the general state of use of the device according to the present invention as a pipe joint is as shown in FIG. 2, and the detailed relationships are as shown in an enlarged view in FIG. The housing 2, which is a rolled material such as a pipe, has joint protrusions 2a that engage the bottom 16 of the packing 1 at both ends thereof, also made of rolled material, and has a joint protrusion 2a on the side surface of the packing 1 inside the joint protrusion 2a. A locking protrusion 3 is formed for the groove 15, and the bottom surface 16 of the packing 1 is set by joining to the joining protrusion 2a. When applied to the pipe to be connected 10, the packing 1 is attached to the inside of the housing 2 as described above, but in this attachment, the bottom surface 16 is joined to the joint protrusion 2a, and the locking protrusion 3 is attached to the groove 15. The lip part 1 is prepared and set in the fitted state.
Since the housing 2 is relatively short and thin, it is easy to insert the housing 2 in a reduced diameter state. However, the connection is made by inserting the pipe to be connected 10 into this, and the packing 1 according to the present invention inserted between the housing 2 and the pipe to be connected 10 is connected to the lip part 11 as shown by the solid line. , 12 are appropriately enlarged in diameter with respect to the inner surface of the short pipe 2 and the outer surface of the connected pipe 10, and the lip part 12 is effectively pressed against the inner surface of the short pipe 2 and the outer surface of the connected pipe 10, and the lip part 12 is suitably reduced in diameter. During the insertion process of the connecting tube 10, while the tip of the connected tube 10 passes through the base joint surface 18a of the lip portion 11, the base joint surface 18a has a relatively gentle slope. The packing 1 is not displaced even by frictional resistance, is smoothly inserted, compresses the packing 1, stabilizes the setting within the housing 2, and is less likely to impart unnecessary residual stress to the packing. However, as the tube end passes through the boundary portion 17 after passing through the base joint surface 18a, the working relationship is appropriately switched, and the pipe end passes through the lip joint surface 18b, which has a steep slope. He ends up being forced into it. During such insertion, the frictional resistance increases rapidly due to the steep slope of the lip joint surface 18b, but the packing 1, whose base side has been stabilized within the housing 2 by previous insertion, will fluctuate. There isn't. Furthermore, as mentioned above, the steeply sloped lip joint surface forms an effective sealing relationship with the outer surface of the inserted pipe 10 to be connected, but the boundary portion 17
The portion tends to float up from the tube surface, making it easier to attach and detach the connected tube. The base side of the packing and the lip joint surface 18b, which are stabilized and set as described above, maintain a favorable sealing relationship against external pressure. As a result of the effective compression seal as described above, the recessed portion 14 is also almost crushed, and its tip 14a also acts as a lip, forming a double seal. The amount of compressive deformation of the lip portion 11 is
Since it is considerably larger than that of No. 2 and is formed with a thick wall, it is possible to effectively join and seal the pipe to be connected 10, and as described above, The lip portion 12, which was easily set, is also appropriately pressed to form a stable sealing state. Note that the groove portion 15 is considerably larger than the locking protrusion 3 in the released state, which makes it easy to install. As shown in the figure, by inserting the end of the connected pipe 10 as shown in FIG. 3, the groove 15 is sufficiently contracted and pressurizes the locking projection 3. Even if the packing 10 contracts or extends in the axial direction and slides, the packing 1 is effectively held in the housing 2, and its attachment state changes due to the bottom support action of the packing 1 by the joint protrusion 2a. There is no possibility of doing so.

As mentioned above, in the case of the present invention in which the housing engages with the intermediate side surface of the packing 1 by the locking protrusion 3, there is no possibility of the packing 1 slipping out at least on the housing 2 side. Considering the elastic force acting on the packing 1 to which the relatively thick and large lip portion 11 is joined on the connected pipe 10 side, the packing 1 has an acting force that presses against the inner surface of the housing 2, making it even more accurate. be. That is, in the device of the present invention, the packing 1 is not pushed out from the housing 2 by the fluid pressure inside the connected pipe 10, and therefore, the tail end of the packing 1 is held by the joint protrusion 2a at most. It is sufficient to cover the tail end of the joint protrusion 2.
There is no need for a and the outer surface of the connected pipe 10 to be particularly close to each other, and a sufficient gap 6 can be formed.
In addition, since the gap 6 is large and the locking protrusion 3 prevents the packing 1 from being pushed out due to the internal pressure, the packing 1 can be relatively large and thick as shown in the figure. and the flexibility between the housing 2 and the connected pipes 10, 10 can be obtained sufficiently high,
Furthermore, since there is no locking structure at all between the connected tube 10 and the housing 2 or packing 1, sufficient expansion and contraction action of the connected tube 10 can be obtained.

In the illustrated example, the joint protrusion 2a of the housing 2 is formed by welding a separately formed ring-shaped plate material to the end of the short pipe 2 and integrating it.
This part can be integrally formed as an extruded section when a section made of steel or aluminum is used, and the locking protrusion 3 can also be welded 5 to the inner surface of the short pipe 2. Alternatively, a one-piece extruded profile can be used. When the short tube 2 is made of this extruded shape, it is made into a tubular shape by axial welding.

"Effects of the Invention" According to the present invention as explained above, the lip portions that are joined to the housing and the connected pipe body are in contact with each other, and a groove portion 15 is formed on the outer surface of the packing 1, and this groove portion 15 is utilized. In the device that is attached to the housing 2 using the locking protrusion 3 of the housing 2, the lip portion on the side of the connected tube is made thicker and longer than the lip portion on the housing side, so that the lip portion on the housing side is relatively short and thin. By attaching the pipe to be connected while being set in the housing, the setting in the housing of the packing is stabilized during the insertion process to the base side joint surface. In this stable state, it is possible to form an effective seal due to the steep slope of the thick and long lip side joint surface, and furthermore, the packing setting state at the housing side lip part is relatively easily set as described above. It also stabilizes the air pressure, provides a favorable sealing effect against external pressure, ensures an accurate setting seal with simple handling, and furthermore forms such a stable and accurate seal. Despite the fact that it is relatively easy to attach and detach connected pipes, it is a highly effective idea in practical terms.
