して酸化還元を行うため、その作用により雑菌の繁殖を
防止できる。酸化チタンは、塗料や化粧品、歯磨き粉な
どにも使われている無毒で安全で耐久性のある物質であ
るため、飲料水などを室温で安全かつ経済的に長期間保
存できる。しかも、酸化チタン膜は光の干渉により、赤
や青、紫、緑など、美しい色を出すので、本発明による
防菌容器は飲料水の容器としてだけでなく、装飾用ある
いはオブジェとしても好適である。さらに、本発明によ
る防菌容器は金魚鉢や花瓶などにも用いることができ、
酸化チタン膜の酸化還元作用により水が活性化され、魚
