2. Description of the Related Art In general, in the distribution industry, it is important to collect and process data related to merchandise in a timely manner and link it to the next merchandise sale, and systematization for this is adopted. This portable terminal device is a portable device used for entering data at door-to-door sales destinations and for entering inventory data for stores, warehouses, etc., and a portable device that can be operated with one hand is also called a handy terminal. There is. Generally, a secondary battery such as a Ni-Cd battery is often used as a power source for such a handy terminal. The characteristics of Ni-Cd batteries are that they have good large-current characteristics, excellent low-temperature characteristics, long cycle life, are resistant to overcharge, and are easy to maintain. Therefore, it is used in applications requiring high reliability, such as the above-mentioned handy terminal, as well as a standby power supply for communication or emergency. In addition, since the Ni-Cd battery can be used as a charger with a relatively simple circuit as compared with a lead battery, it is often used for applications with a small battery capacity and is widely used as a general storage battery. .. As a conventional charging method for a handy terminal, there is, for example, a contact charging method shown in FIGS. 3 is a side view showing a handy terminal and a charging adapter, FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along the line AA ′ of FIG. 3, and FIG. 5 is a sectional view taken along the line BB ′ of FIG. Figure 3-
In FIG. 5, 11 is a handy terminal body, 12 is a communication adapter with a charging function, and the handy terminal body 11 is placed on the handy terminal placement surface 12a of the communication adapter 12 with a charging function during charging (FIG. 3). ..
Charging contacts 13 and 14 are provided at predetermined positions on the back surface 11a of the handy terminal main body 11, and the charging surface 13a of the communication adapter is provided with a protrusion for charging so as to come into contact with the charging contacts 13 and 14. Contacts 15, 16 are provided. When attempting to charge, placing the handy terminal 11 on the communication adapter 12 with a charging function will start charging.

However, in such a conventional charging device, charging is started immediately when an electronic device such as a handy terminal is placed in the charger. As described above, when the handy terminal is frequently used for stocktaking or the like and the use of the terminal is repeatedly stopped, the charging is frequently triggered, and proper charging control cannot be performed, resulting in overcharging. When the storage battery is overcharged, it not only shortens its life, but also may generate heat or break down. That is, in the case of a quick charging device that rapidly charges a large current, a so-called −Δ is used to prevent overcharging.
The V detection method detects the charging state to stop the rapid charging, and the protection timer stops the rapid charging, but it is frequently used like a handy terminal.
In the case of electronic devices that are repeatedly prohibited from being used, charging may be triggered frequently, so appropriate switching control of charging current is required.
If the ΔV control or the like cannot be performed properly and the rapid charge is performed, the overcharge may occur. This is because quick charging starts immediately when the electronic device is placed. Then, it is clear that if the rapid charging is started at the time when the rapid charging is required, the appropriate rapid charging can be performed while preventing overcharging. An object of the present invention is to enable appropriate rapid charging at the time when the rapid charging is required.
