なる。従つて、この状態で読み取つたとき、磁気
ヘツドから信号が出力されないならば、磁気記録
面が上側に向けられていることが判別できる。し
かし実際には磁気記録券の厚みを介しても上側の
磁気記録面の磁気記録信号が若干磁気ヘツドに検
出されてしまうことがある。このとき、磁気ヘツ
ドの検出信号は読取り不良の場合の紛らわしくな
る。このため、従来は、磁気記録券の裏面を上側
にして入れてしまつたのか、又は裏面を下側にし
ていれたがその磁気記録面の読取りが不良であつ
たのかの判断ができなかつた。本発明は上記問題
点に鑑みて、磁気記録券の表面が下側に配置され
ているのか否かの磁気記録券の表裏の判定を正確
に行うことができる磁気記録券の表裏判定回路を
提供することを目的とする。

し、増幅器3−2で増幅した後、デコーダ4に入
力する。ここで、読取同期クロツクは磁気記録面
からのデータの読取タイミングの設定に用いられ
る。また、増幅器3−2の出力はカウンタ5に入
力し、読取同期クロツクのクロツク数を検出す
る。一方、閾値回路7には、磁気記録券1の表裏
を判別するためのクロツク数の閾値が格納されて
いる。従つてカウンタ5の出力と閾値回路7の出
力とを比較器6によつて比較し、カウンタ5の出
力が閾値7より大の時には磁気記録券1の裏面1
−1が磁気ヘツド2−2,2−1に当接している
と考えられるから、磁気記録券1の表裏は正しい
ことになる。また、カウンタ5の出力が閾値回路
7の出力よりも小さい時には比較器6の出力よ
り、磁気記録券1の表面1−3が磁気ヘツド2−
1,2−2に当接しているものと判断される。従
つて、磁気記録券1に記録した内容が正常に読取
れなかつた場合、閾値回路7と読取同期クロツク
の数に対応するカウンタ5の出力を比較し、カウ
ンタ5の出力が大なる時には磁気記録券は正しく
裏面が磁気ヘツド側に設けられていることになる
から、磁気記録面のデータが不良であることが判
明する。また、これと反対にカウンタ5の出力が
閾値回路7の出力よりも小である時には、磁気記
録券の表面1−3が下側にきて磁気ヘツドに当接
していることになるので表裏が反対であると判断
する。
