Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a data recording control method by which the data provided from the medium maker of the information recording medium of an optical disk, etc., can not be copied without permission. CONSTITUTION:The sector format of the optical disk medium is constituted of a data area 9, a read (reproduction) only control area 10, and an error correction code area 11. Apart of the data provided by the medium maker is written (recorded) in the above control area 10, prohibiting a medium user to write in, and making the user unable to copy it in the same position of a different optical disk medium. Thus, the copying without permission of the data provided by the medium maker is easily prevented.
