Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a connector having a large number of contact points small and lower the force to insert and draw the connector by separating the materials and structures composed of contact points of a high resistance circuit and contact points of a low resistance circuit, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Contact terminals 15a, 15b, 16a, 16b of printed substrates 11, 12 are connected with a high resistance circuit and soldered terminal holes 13a, 13b, 14a, 14b are connected with a low resistance circuit. The connection with the high resistance circuit is carried out by connecting contactor terminals exposed in both end faces of a conductive rubber 31 with the contact terminals 15a, 15b, 16a, 16b. The connection with the low resistance circuit is carried out by using metal-made female contacts 23a, 23b and male contacts 24a, 24b. Since the metal contacts which need large force to be inserted and drawn out are limited to the use for connecting the contact parts of low resistance, the force to be inserted and drawn out of the whole connector becomes low.

The circuits on the printed circuit boards 51 and 52 include high resistance circuits,
Since there are both low resistance circuits, some of the contacts 63 and 64 are connected to high resistance circuits and others are connected to low resistance circuits. However, in the conventional example, all of the contacts 63 and 64 are made of a low-resistance metal material.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention These metal contacts are inherently expensive as contact materials, and it is necessary to make one of them a super structure and the other a male structure for elastic contact. Therefore, the molding cost of the contacts is high (and the dimensions are large.Furthermore, since the female and male contacts engage with each other with a large contact force, the insertion/extraction force when connecting/disconnecting the connector is large). (There is also a drawback.

In order to connect low-resistance circuits, it is unavoidable to use metal contacts that are expensive, large in size, and have a large insertion/extraction force, but when connecting high-resistance circuits, it is necessary to use metal contacts with low resistance. There is no need to use metal contacts since they may be larger than in the case of resistive circuits.

However, in conventional connectors that connect both high-resistance circuits and low-resistance circuits, metal contacts are also used to connect high-resistance circuits. For this reason, the cost of the connector is high, the dimensions are large, and the insertion/extraction force is also large. The present invention aims to reduce the size and cost of the connector used in the present invention, and provides a connector with reduced insertion/extraction force A.

Function The present invention has the above-described configuration, in which the contact provided on one 71 housing and connected to the low resistance circuit is directly connected to the contact connected to the other low resistance circuit, and the contact terminals connected to the high resistance circuit are connected to each other. Since the connection is completed through the contact terminal on the contact unit, the constituent material and structure of the contact for low resistance can be made different from the constituent material and structure of the contact terminal for high resistance. The dimensions of the connector can be reduced, resulting in lower costs. In addition, the contact unit is guided through an opening provided in the housing, and when the low resistance contact is connected, the high resistance contact terminal and the contact terminal come into contact at the same time to complete the high resistance connection. , the force for inserting and removing the connector can also be reduced.

Generally, conductive rubber has higher electrical resistance than metal contact materials, but the conductive rubber contact terminals connect to the contact terminals 15a, 15b, 16a connected to the high resistance circuit.
Since it is 16b, there will be no electrical problem. On the other hand, the low resistance circuit is connected by the engagement of the low resistance metal female contacts 23a, 23b and the male contacts 24a, 24b connected to the low resistance circuit, so this also does not cause any electrical problems.

Further, since the high resistance circuit is connected by simply bringing the contact terminals into contact with each other, the insertion/extraction force can be reduced compared to the case where the female contacts and the male contacts are engaged.

In this way, according to the connector of the embodiment of the present invention, conductive rubber is used for the connection part that does not require low resistance, which is cheaper (and smaller in size) than metal contacts, so the overall size of the connector is also small. In addition, since metal contacts that require a large insertion/extraction force are used only in low-resistance connections, the insertion/extraction force of the entire connector can be reduced.

Further, the contact terminal 31 made of conductive rubber is the contact terminal 15.
.. Make it slightly larger than the interval dimension of 16 (X in Figure 2). By doing so, when the housings are joined together, the rubber contracts due to its own elasticity, and the pressing force generated by the elastic force allows the rubber to reliably contact the contact terminals. This pressing force acts in a direction that tends to separate the metal contacts 23 and 24, but in the present invention, the engagement between the flexible claw and the fixed claw prevents poor contact between the contacts due to the pressing force. There is.

In this example, a case was explained in which high-resistance conductive rubber was used as the contact material of a high-resistance circuit, but the contact material does not necessarily have to have high resistance, and any material with low resistance but excellent moldability may be used. Bye. Further, the high resistance material does not need to be limited to rubber materials, and any material that is conductive and elastic, such as conductive plastic, may be used.

Effects of the Invention As is clear from the above embodiments, the present invention uses different materials and structures for the contacts of the high-resistance circuit and the contacts of the low-resistance circuit.
