The present invention relates to an improvement of a cassette tape designated surface detector. When re-recording onto a previously recorded cassette tape using a cassette tape recorder, such as an auto-reversing cassette deck, you may want to play it back to check the recording side of the tape, but it is necessary to perform such a check each time. It is very troublesome and troublesome to do so. Also, if you record immediately, there is a risk that the recording will occur in the opposite direction to the recording surface. Furthermore, some cassette tapes do not have labels affixed to them, and in those cases, conventionally, the side where the screw heads were visible was used as the designated side to determine the front and back sides, but it is no longer necessary to check the presence or absence of screw heads each time. It's a hassle. The present invention was made to improve the problems of the prior art, and includes a means for detecting reflected light from the screw head on the designated surface of the cassette and a surface without a screw head in the vicinity, and the difference in detection output is The present invention is characterized in that it is configured to detect a specified surface from a specified surface. The present invention will be described below with reference to the embodiments shown in the drawings. In FIGS. 1a to d, 1 is a photoreflector, light emitting diodes 4 and photoreflectors are arranged in a case 2 on both sides of a boundary line 3.・Transistor 5
Consists of. In addition, in the same figure, the solid line is the light emitting pattern,
The broken line shows the light receiving pattern, and FIG. 1a shows the reflection surface 6.
On the other hand, the optical axes 7 are parallel for light emission and light reception, and d in the figure shows a case where the optical axes 7 intersect. Figures 2A to 2C show designated surfaces of a gray plastic cassette, a die-cast aluminum cassette, and a black cassette, respectively, with the screw heads 8 exposed, and Figures D to F show the back surfaces of the cassettes, where the screw heads 8 are not exposed. Show the side. Therefore, in order to optically detect the presence or absence of a designated surface of the cassette, that is, the presence or absence of a screw head, the photo reflector is placed at the screw head position A and at position B of the surface without a screw head in the vicinity, and The data obtained by detecting the reflected light is shown below. However, the gap between the photo reflector and the cassette surface is 1.06 mm, and for black cassette C, the normalized values with F to A set to 1 are shown in the box.

[Table] As is clear from the above data, the light detection output of the photo reflector placed at position A of the screw head is about 0.6 to 0.7 lower than the output at position B near it. Note that the same results as with other plastic cassettes can be obtained with the aluminum die-cast cassette, as shown in FIGS. Since it is concave, light is reflected there. 4a and 4b show a cassette tape specified surface detector according to an embodiment of the present invention, 11 and 12 are the aforementioned photoreflectors, and light emitting diodes are shown.
LED 1 , LED 2 and phototransistor Tr 1 , Tr 2
They are arranged at the screw head position A of the cassette 13 and at a position B near the screw head position B through a predetermined gap g. The photodetection output of each photoreflector is given to a differential amplifier 14, the difference output is obtained, and a comparator 15 determines whether or not it is a designated surface. FIG. 5 shows another embodiment of the present invention, in which the respective outputs X 1 and X 2 of the photoreflector are applied to an adder circuit 16 and a subtracter circuit 17 to produce a sum output X 1 +X 2 and a difference output.
Obtain X 1 −X 2 and divide these sum and difference outputs by the division circuit 1
8 and its specific output X 1 -X 2 /X 1 +X 2 are input to the comparator 15 to accurately determine the designated surface. FIG. 6 shows still another embodiment of the present invention, in which the gain of the differential amplifier 14 is made variable by operating an analog switch 20 based on the output of the other comparator 19. For example, between a gray plastic cassette and a black plastic cassette, there is a difference in the output of the photoreflector of about 20 dB, so the output of the photoreflector 12 at the
9 and in response to the output of the gray plastic cassette, an analog switch 20 is activated.
The feedback resistance of the differential amplifier 14
By connecting R6 , the gain is reduced by about 20dB. FIG. 7 shows still another embodiment of the present invention, in which photo reflectors 11 and 12 are arranged at positions corresponding to the threaded portions on the front and back of a cassette 21. As explained above, according to the present invention, it is non-contact type, so it has excellent durability and reliability, and also does not require a high-grade optical system and can easily configure the detection circuit, making it inexpensive. obtain.
