Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the volume of a spent air filter in a short time by crushing the air filter by a crusher, putting the crushed material into a combustible bag and incinerating the package in an incinerator. CONSTITUTION:The air filter is formed with a filter medium obtained by binding a fibrous material contg. 25-40wt.% glass fiber and 60-75wt.% org. fiber consisting essentially of polyester fiber, a separator made of laminated paper, a sealing material contg. 60-70wt.% urethane resin and 30-40wt.% calcium carbonate, a chloroprene-based gasket, an outer frame of plywood and a metallic screw for fixing the outer frame. The air filter is crushed by a crusher, the crushed material is put into a combustible bag (e.g. PE bag), and the package is incinerated in an incinerator. Consequently, the volume of a spent air filter is reduced in a short time, and a combustible air filter appropriate for the combustion is obtained.

(Prior Art) Conventionally, this type of air filter has been made by folding a filter medium made of glass fiber in a zigzag shape, and using a separator with aluminum foil shaped into a wave shape between the folded surfaces so that the filter medium does not overlap. A high-performance ventilation filter, a so-called HEPA filter, is known, which is inserted and sealed within an outer frame via a sealing material.
