Claims

A printing station is provided in which at least a charging device, an exposing device, and a developing device are sequentially arranged facing each other on the circumferential surface of a photosensitive drum, and at least one of the printing stations is provided above an endless belt-shaped image transfer belt stretched in a freely rolling manner. In the image forming apparatus, there is provided a printing unit that includes at least a developer and a photosensitive drum of the printing station and has a rotatable passive shaft protruding laterally, and the printing unit is detachably mounted from above. A unit frame is formed, and an exposure device support frame on which at least an exposure device of the printing station is attached is rotatably supported in the vertical direction at a position facing the unit frame from above, and a passive shaft of the printing unit is supported. An image forming apparatus characterized in that a motor frame to which a drive motor to which a drive shaft is detachably connected is mounted is supported on a side of the unit frame so as to be freely displaceable in the axial direction of the passive shaft.
