In particular, the present invention relates to a transfer method suitable for efficient data transmission using duplex transmission paths.

In the following explanation, information on layers higher than the network layer of the OSI reference model will be described as user data, and information required by the network layer such as address information and network configuration information will be described as 1lJt.
It is called ll data. In the figure, 2a to 2C are small stages. Each stage accesses its respective transmission path using the C8MA/CD access method. In conventional local area networks, all stations share one transmission path, so all information is transmitted over two transmission paths. Therefore, user data and control data such as address information and management information required by each station on the network are transmitted through the same transmission path. Therefore, in FIG. 3, even if station 2d has user data 4d, it cannot transmit user data 4d while stage dn 2C is transmitting control data 3C. Even in networks with duplex transmission paths, only one of the transmission paths is used when transmitting information, so all information is transmitted over the second transmission path.

This has the disadvantage that it becomes difficult to transmit user data over the entire network, and it appears to the user that the network capacity is low.

In the figure, 1a indicates a transmission path for user data, and 1b indicates a transmission path for control data. Each station has duplex functions up to the data link layer □, and can simultaneously transmit and receive data to the transmission paths 1a and 1b. FIG. 2 shows the internal configuration of a station with duplex functions up to the data link layer. It is assumed that each station accesses its respective transmission path using the C8MA/CD access method.

The network layer processes and reflects the results in the transmission of the data. In FIG. 1, even though station 2C is transmitting control data 3C, station 2d can transmit user data 4d. If one of the transmission lines cannot be used due to a failure or the like, communication is performed using the conventional method of transmitting user data and control data using the other healthy transmission line.
