Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a picture confirmable by an operation position without touching paper sheets so as to improve document composition efficiency, by discharging the paper sheets on which pictures are formed, to a paper discharge tray tilted in an operational direction, and holding lower end parts of the paper sheets between paper discharge rollers. CONSTITUTION:Paper sheets on which pictures are formed are held between paper discharge rollers 10 and discharged to a paper receiving surface 11a of a paper discharge tray 11, with picture forming surface facing upward. The paper discharge tray 11 is provided in an operation direction side of a picture forming device to tilt the paper receiving surface 11a downward from the paper discharge roller 10 toward a discharge direction, and it is stopped in a condition that the paper discharge roller 10 holds a rear end part of the paper when it is discharged. In this way, the efficiency of document composition work is improved by making the picture easily confirmable from the operation direction without touching the paper sheets on which pictures are formed.

2. Description of the Related Art In image forming apparatuses such as laser printers, there are two conventional methods for discharging printed paper: a method in which the printed surface of the paper is directed downward, and a method in which the paper is discharged upward.

In the method of ejecting paper with the printed surface facing upward, the paper is often ejected in a direction other than the operating direction of the printer, making it difficult to see the printed surface from the operating direction.

In addition, even in devices that eject the paper with the printed surface facing upward in the operating direction, the paper is ejected almost horizontally, and when viewed from the operating direction, the printed page is vertically reversed (in front of the ejected paper). The side was at the top of the page and the back side was at the bottom of the page.

The paper onto which the printed image has been transferred from the photosensitive drum 4 is discharged onto a face-up tray 15. However, since the printed image on the photoreceptor 4 is written in order from the top to the bottom of the page, on the face-up tray 15, the front side is the top of the page when viewed from the operating direction, and the back side is the bottom of the page. Therefore, when viewed from the operating side (right side in the figure), the page appears upside down. Further, on the face-up tray 15, the printed surface of the paper and the operator's line of sight are nearly parallel, so there is a problem that the printed surface is difficult to see.

Some word processing software displays the page layout as is on a CRT, but due to differences in resolution between the CRT and the image forming device, and differences in texture between the CRT and the paper, the actual printed result may differ from what is confirmed on the CRT. It doesn't necessarily match. For this reason, the operator is forced to repeat the correction/printing operations as described above. This is a very complicated task and requires a lot of time and effort.

However, in the conventional method of ejecting the printed side with the printed side facing downward as described above, the printed side cannot be seen unless the printing paper is turned over. When paper is ejected in a direction other than the direction of operation, the device itself becomes an obstacle and it is difficult to see the printed surface from the direction of operation, and when the paper is ejected in the direction of operation, the operator It is difficult to check the printed surface because the printed surface is viewed from a certain height, and furthermore, the front side of the ejected paper is at the top of the page.
The operator had to view the printed surface upside down from a difficult angle, and was forced to remove the printed paper from the paper output tray and view it.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention according to claim 1 provides a first aspect of the present invention, in which a sheet of paper on which an image is formed is held between paper ejection rollers and is placed in a paper ejection tray with the image forming surface facing upward. In an image forming apparatus in which a paper tray is discharged onto a surface, the paper discharge tray is provided on the operation direction side of the image forming apparatus, and the surface of the paper tray is inclined downward from the paper discharge roller portion toward the discharge direction. and
The invention according to claim 2 is characterized in that, when the paper is ejected, the paper ejection roller stops while holding the trailing edge of the paper. It is characterized by being formed.

According to the invention of claim 1, the paper ejection tray is provided on the operation direction side of the image forming apparatus, and the paper tray has a surface inclined downward toward the ejection direction, so that the paper tray is disposed on the side in the operating direction of the image forming apparatus, and the paper tray is arranged so that the paper tray is arranged so that the paper tray is disposed on the side in the operating direction of the image forming apparatus. Since the paper is held against the surface of the paper tray while holding the edges, the operator can view the image formed on the paper from an angle that is easy to see from the operating direction.

This electrostatic latent image is developed into a visible image by a developing device 7, transferred by a transfer charger 8 onto a sheet of paper fed at a predetermined timing by a pair of registration rollers 3, and then heated and fixed by a fixing device 9. The paper ejection sensor 12 detects the length of the paper in the transport direction when the leading edge of the paper does not reach the position of the paper ejection sensor 12 within a predetermined time after leaving the registration roller pair 3, and after the paper ejection sensor 12 is turned on. This is used to determine a "jam" if the device does not turn off within the corresponding time.

In this embodiment, the paper ejection roller 10 is stopped after a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the paper ejection sensor 12 was turned from on to off, and the paper ejection sensor 12 is used to obtain this timing. In this way, with the trailing edge of the printing paper several millimeters sandwiched between the paper ejection rollers 10, the paper ejection roller lO
By stopping the printing paper, it is possible to stabilize the printing paper almost vertically in the middle of the paper discharge tray 11, which has a nearly vertical inclination. The reason for doing this is that if the paper is not pinched by the paper discharge rollers 10, it may not be possible to reliably stand up the paper in the paper discharge tray 11 by simply straining the paper.

The paper that is sandwiched several millimeters from the trailing edge falls into the paper ejection tray 11 due to the rotation of the paper ejection roller 10 when the next printing starts. Moreover, this paper is held under such pressure that it can be easily pulled out downward even before the next printing begins. Note that if such an operation is not necessary, the sheet can be ejected onto the upper paper ejection tray 14 by switching the paper ejection switching claw 13.

Effects As described above, according to the present invention, in the invention of claim 1, the paper on which the image has been formed is ejected to a paper ejection tray that is inclined in the direction of operation, and the lower end of the paper is held between the paper ejection rollers. This allows a person to check the image at the operating position without touching the paper, significantly improving document creation efficiency.
