Abstract

PURPOSE:To strengthen the engaging force of the engagement head so as to resist sufficiently a horizontal pull by forming the cross section of a curved portion forming an approximately semi-circular shape spreading toward the end an inside from a projecting portion of the head of the engagement, and by approaching or abutting the horizontal parts to each other. CONSTITUTION:The inside of an engagement head 6 bends a mono-filament (m) having a circular or oblong cross section at a reverse bending part from an upper arm 2. Each cross section of part bending to the part or to the lower arm 3 provides bending parts 8, 9 deformed in an approximately semi-circular configuration spreading toward the end with each horizontal peripheral part 10, 11 facing with each other in approaching and contacting state. With such a construction, the engaging head 6 is made to be pushed to a projecting part 5 with the body of the filament at the inside of the engaging head being pressed. The configuration of the projecting part 5 becomes a swelled mountain-like shape having a smooth slanting face. Consequently the engaging area increases, making the part thicker to strengthen the base of the engaging part. Therefore even when considerably strong horizontal pull is applied to the engaging part, the chain will not break.

The interlocking head formed on conventional continuous fastener elements of this type is formed by stamping monofilament, or by crushing the monofilament by using the force when it is wound around a mandrel whose cross section is approximately flat. In both cases, the protrusion of the interlocking head is formed by moving the flesh of the monofilament, and examples of this are shown in Figs. 7 and 8.
The engaging head 12 of the continuous fastener element is thin, and the slope I4 leading to the protrusion 13 is constricted and exhibits a steep flow.

As mentioned above, in the conventional engaging head, the slope forming the protruding part is constricted, and this is formed into a gentle or convexly curved surface, as shown by the two-dot chain line in Fig. 8, for example. However, many of the conventional ones have a surprisingly deep constriction, so the engaging area is small and the walls are thin, so the horizontal pull when the fastener elements are engaged is difficult. The resultant force is not very reliable,
When a strong lateral attraction force is applied during or in a meshed state, there is a problem in that the meshing heads become disengaged, causing a chain cracking phenomenon.

The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems and provides a continuous fastener element having an engaging head with a strong engagement force that can sufficiently withstand strong lateral pulling forces.

The solution according to the present invention is that, in the engaging head of a continuous fastener element for a slide fastener formed by bending a synthetic resin monofilament, the cross-sectional shape of the bent part forming the inner side of the protruding part of the engaging head becomes wider. It is characterized by having a substantially semicircular shape, with the horizontal sides of the bent portions facing each other in a state of being close to or in contact with each other.

Since it has the structure described in the previous section, the shape of the protruding part of the engaging head is a plump mountain shape with a gentle slope, and the engaging area of the engaging head is expanded and the thickness is increased. This allows the engagement force of the meshing portion to be increased considerably.

To specifically explain the continuous fastener element for a slide fastener according to the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the continuous fastener element 1 is formed by bending a monofilament made of synthetic resin. ,
The front end portion of the upper leg portion 2 is reversely bent downward to form a lower leg portion 3, and the rear end portion of the lower leg portion 3 is reversely bent upward to form a connecting portion 4. forming the upper leg part 2 of
The shape is continuous, and the inverted bent portion at each front end bends and deforms the monofilament to form a protruding portion 5.
and a bent portion 8.9, and the mating head 6 is fitted into the mating head 6 by the inner surface of the mating head 6 and the inner surfaces of both upper and lower legs continuous thereto. A cavity 7 is formed. Furthermore, the monofilament m, which is the material of the continuous fastener element 1, has a cross-sectional shape shown in FIG.
A) A circular shape as shown in the figure, or (B) an oval shape as shown in the figure is used.

Therefore, the structure of the engaging head 6 according to the present invention is as shown in FIG. , the monofilament m, which had a circular or elliptical cross section, is turned into an approximately semicircular shape with a wide base at its reverse bending part, and the monofilament part that bends from the upper leg 2 side and the monofilament part that bends towards the lower leg 3 side. The bent portions 8.9 are deformed into a substantially semicircular shape, and each bent portion 8.9 faces each other with their horizontal sides 10° 11 close to each other or in contact with each other. As a result, the monofilament flesh of the portion forming the inner side of the engaging head 6 is crushed, and the protruding portion 5 is formed.
The shape of the protruding part 5 of the engaging head is made into a plump chevron shape with a gentle slope to increase the engagement area, and the protruding part 5 is thickened to facilitate the engaging. The head 6 is formed to be strong.

The engaging head of the continuous fastener element for a slide fastener according to the present invention has the flesh of the monofilament 1 forming the inner side of the engaging head crushed and extruded toward the protruding part of the engaging head. As a result, the shape of the protruding part of the engaging head becomes a plump mountain shape with a gentle slope, and the engaging area of the engaging head increases considerably, and the protruding part of the engaging head Since it is thick and forms a strong engaging head, it is possible to exert a strong engagement force. Therefore, even if a fairly strong lateral gravitational force is applied to the meshing fastener element portions, the chain will not break, and a strong fastener effect will be exhibited.
