。Conventionally, the surface of a golf ball is generally coated with paint. This surface painting is done to retain stamped characters, numbers, marks, etc., and to maintain gloss and beauty. Furthermore, in order to increase the adhesion between the paint film and the surface of the golf ball, a brimer is applied to the surface of the golf ball prior to painting.

In particular, since ionomer resins are often used as cover materials for golf balls, this resin has a low melting point and cannot be dried at a high drying temperature, resulting in the problem that it takes a long time to coat.

Here, the golf ball may be a solid golf ball such as a two-piece golf ball, a one-piece golf ball, or a thread-wound golf ball.

This simplifies the painting process because the primer application process can be omitted, and also improves the impact resistance of the paint film since there is no need to use a primer that is weak against bending. I can do it.

is used. The surface cover may be formed by either press molding, which is used for thread-wound golf balls, or injection molding, which is used for solid golf poles. Further, in the present invention, before irradiating with ultraviolet rays, it is preferable to wash the surface of the golf ball with a solvent as necessary in order to remove the mold release agent adhering to the surface of the golf ball.

A top coat (urethane paint) was applied by spraying onto the surface of the coating film and dried at 50° C. for 24 hours or more. The adhesion of the coating film and the impact resistance of the coating film were evaluated for this golf ball. The results are shown in Table 1.
