Abstract

PURPOSE:To display cooking information with fixed brightness irrespective of door opening or closing by installing a control means which controls the brightness of a fluorescent characteristic display tube by the detection output of a door opening/closing detection means which detects door opening and closing. CONSTITUTION:A door 2, which opens or closes the opening section of a heating chamber, is installed on a cooking appliance main body 1. The door 2 comprises a colored door glass 3, which makes is possible to monitor the cooking status of cooked substances in the heating chamber and a door frame 4, which is installed around the door glass. A fluorescent characteristic display tube 5 is installed at the position covered with the door glass 3 when opening or closing the door 2 of the cooking appliance main body 1 where the display tube 5 displays cooking information such as cooking time, cooking type, and cooking conditions.
