この両基板間の間隙を規制する透明スペーサを挟
持させて対向させ、この両基板間の間隙に液晶を
封入した液晶表示素子において、前記スペーサの
光屈折率を、前記両基板の電極間に暗表示電圧を
印加したときにおける液晶の光屈折率とほぼ等し
