Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the disposal of waste superior in sealing and good in airtightness possible by arranging a cover body so as to join on an elastic member and a bonding agent after radioactive waste is put in a disposal vessel. CONSTITUTION:At first, after a bonding agent 4 is injected through a nozzle C into a space between an elastic material 3 of a disposal vessel body A in which the elastic material 3 is provided and the inner wall of a drum can and various radioactive waste is put in the body A, for instance, paste blending normal portland cement and the like in the specified proportion is charged and thereafter a cover B is arranged. Or the paste is charged to inject the bonding agent 4 through the nozzle C to arrange the cover B after various radioactive waste is put in the body A. If this is performed, the elastic material 3 is crushed by the cover B while the bonding agent 4 is removed to increase its liquid height and at the time the space between the cover B and the body B is filled with the bonding agent 4 to fully perform airtightness so as to integrally incorporate the cover B in the body A. Thereby waste good in sealing and airtightness can be disposed of.

The amount of various radioactive wastes discharged from various nuclear facilities such as nuclear power plants continues to increase. Among these radioactive wastes, medium and low level radioactive wastes are placed in radioactive waste disposal containers such as drums.
It is then solidified and sealed with a lid, making it in its final form suitable for burial underground or dumping at sea. Various types of containers have been proposed for the treatment of radioactive waste. For example, a radioactive waste treatment container (Special Publication Publication No. 56-1284
No. 0) is a radioactive waste treatment container (Japanese Patent Publication No. 57-34518) in which steel fiber-reinforced concrete formed into the shape of a container is partially impregnated with a polymerizable impregnating agent and solidified by polymerization, or as an outer shell. A device consisting of a metal container, a device made of concrete lined on the inner surface of the metal container, reinforced with a reinforcing material, and further strengthened with an impregnating agent, and a multilayer container with a double structure of an inner shell (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 59-.859
No. 99) has been proposed. Then, after filling fine radioactive waste such as powdered or granular incineration ash together with a cement solidifying material into a radioactive waste treatment container and solidifying it, cement paste is filled on top of this radioactive waste layer. After placing an inner lid coated with adhesive around the inner surface, the outer lid is placed over a radioactive waste treatment container, and consideration is being given to burying it underground or dumping it in the ocean. It is. However, with this method, there is a possibility that there may be a problem with the adhesion between the lid and the radioactive waste processing container, and there is a need for improvement in terms of airtightness in particular.

FIG. 1 is an explanatory diagram showing one embodiment of the radioactive waste disposal method according to the present invention. In the figure, A is the main body of a radioactive waste processing container, and the main body A of this processing container is, for example, a steel drum 1 lined with a polymer-impregnated concrete layer 2 and provided integrally therewith. . Reference numeral 3 denotes a sponge-like elastic material having gas permeability, which is provided along the inner periphery of the polymer-impregnated concrete layer 2 that is lined with the polymer. Reference numeral 4 denotes an epoxy adhesive, for example, injected between the inner wall of the drum 1 made of IT and the elastic material 3. B is a lid made of polymer-impregnated concrete used as the inner lid of the processing container body A. Incidentally, this iB can be obtained by, for example, pouring steel fiber concrete and leaving it for a predetermined period of time, then injecting a polymerizable monomer into the concrete and subjecting it to polymerization treatment. Next, a method of processing using the processing container main body A and lid B configured as described above will be explained. First, the elastic material 3 of the processing container main body A provided with the elastic material 3
Adhesive 4 is applied to the space between the inner wall of the drum 1 and the nozzle C
After putting various types of radioactive waste into the processing container body A, it is filled with a paste containing water, ordinary Portland cement, etc. in a predetermined ratio, and then the MB is placed. . Alternatively, after putting various radioactive wastes into the processing container main body, for example, a paste containing water, ordinary Portland cement, etc. in a predetermined ratio is filled, and then the elastic material 3 of the processing container main body A and the drum can Adhesive 4 is injected into the space between the inner wall of 1 and the inner wall of 1 using nozzle C, and then lid B is placed. Then, the elastic material 3 is crushed by the lid B, and the adhesive 4 is pushed away and the liquid height increases, and at this time, the adhesive 4 fills the space between iB and the processing container body A. Therefore, the lid B is integrated into the processing container body A with sufficient airtightness. During this integration, if the adhesive is injected after the lid B is put on, even if the adhesive enters the gap between 12B and the processing container body A, it will enter from a place where it is easy to enter. In contrast to the situation where there are areas where the adhesive cannot penetrate, with the present invention, the adhesive is forced from the bottom to the top using the MB, so there is no problem where the adhesive cannot penetrate. The iB is integrated into the processing container main body A while ensuring sufficient airtightness. Moreover, the time required for the adhesive 4 to flow into the gap space is short, and the work is completed in a short time.
High processing efficiency. This short processing time means that the time spent in contact with radioactive waste is short, and the safety is improved accordingly. Thereafter, the main body A (drum 1) of the processing container is covered with an outer lid and transported to a disposal site, thereby completing the processing of radioactive waste. In the above embodiment, the elastic material 3 is provided on the upper surface of the polymer-impregnated concrete layer 2 lined with the lining.
The elastic material 3 may be provided along the upper inner circumference of the polymer-impregnated concrete layer 2, as shown in FIG.

The radioactive waste processing method according to the present invention includes the steps of: arranging an elastic member along the inside of the upper part of the peripheral wall of a radioactive waste processing container; and between the outer wall of the radioactive waste processing container and the elastic member. a step of injecting an adhesive into the radioactive waste disposal container; a step of putting radioactive waste into the radioactive waste disposal container; Since the process includes the process of arranging the lid so as to be joined to the processing vessel, if the adhesive is injected after the lid is attached, even if the adhesive gets into the gap between the lid and the processing container, Since the adhesive enters from the places where it is easy to enter, there will inevitably be areas where the adhesive cannot penetrate, but because the adhesive is forced from the bottom to the top by the lid, the adhesive will not be able to get into the lid. There is no need to get into the dark gap between the container and the lid, which ensures sufficient airtightness and is integrated into the processing container. The time required for flowing in is short and the work is completed within the transfer time, so processing efficiency is high, and this short processing time means that the time in contact with radioactive waste is short. It has features such as less risk of radiation exposure, superior safety, and less waste in the adhesive used.
