Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the title material which gives a molded article excellent in gloss, transparency, etc., by incorporating an alkylphenyl phosphite as release agent. CONSTITUTION:An unsaturated polyester resin (A) is mixed with an alkylphenyl phosphite (B) and necessary additives (C), such as a filler (e.g. glass powder) and a reinforcing material (e.g. glass fiber), to produce the title material. A suitable amount of component B is about 0.1-5pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. component A. The use of component B as release agent can prevent a decrease in the gloss and transparency of a molded article. The obtained material is suitably used for housing equipment, building members, sanitary wares, electrical equipment, etc., particularly for manufacturing molded articles of which good gloss and transparency are required.

Conventionally, unsaturated polyester resin molded products have high strength and durability, and the fluidity of the molding material during molding is good, so large molded products can be formed by low-pressure molding. However, the commonly used fatty acid metal salts A mold release agent consisting of the above had the disadvantage that the metal salt bleed out onto the surface of the molded product, resulting in a decrease in gloss and transparency.

The alkylphenyl phosphite used in the present invention includes all alkylphenyl phosphites, and the amount added is preferably 0.1 to 5 minutes per 100 parts by weight (hereinafter simply referred to as parts) of the unsaturated polyester resin. . That is 0
.. This is because if the amount is less than 1 part, the mold releasability tends to decrease, and if it exceeds 5 parts, the gloss tends to decrease. Any unsaturated polyester resin can be used, and a styrene monomer or the like as a crosslinking agent can also be included. Fillers include bulbs, wood powder, glass powder, calcium carbonate,
Clay, silica, talc, aluminum hydroxide, etc. can be added. The thermoplastic resin as a low-shrinkage agent, reinforcing agents such as glass fibers and glass fiber chips, crosslinking agents, polymerization initiators, coloring agents, etc. are not particularly limited, and commonly used ones can be used as they are. The unsaturated polyester resin molding material thus obtained can be molded under heat and pressure by compression molding, extrusion molding, transfer molding, injection molding, etc. to obtain molded products with excellent gloss and transparency.
