In recent years, rigid scopes have been used for medical purposes to examine the inside of body cavities, and furthermore for industrial purposes to examine the insides of machinery (including piping). The protective sheath attached to the rigid scope is used for a variety of purposes, including protecting the optical viewing tube and assisting in its insertion, refluxing water, and assisting in the insertion of forceps. For example, Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 59-27517 shows a state in which an optical viewing tube is inserted into a protective sheath. That is, the protective sheath is generally configured to have the same length as the optical viewing tube, or to be slightly shorter. This is because the lengths of optical viewing tubes and protective sheaths vary, so when a certain combination is made, the protective sheath protrudes from the tip of the optical viewing tube, and the observation range (field of view) of the optical viewing tube. This structure is used to prevent the area (range) from being thrown away by the protective sheath.

One of the functions of the protective sheath of the rigid scope is to protect the optical viewing tube from bending and impact caused by external forces. This function is especially important when used for inspecting machines and engines for industrial purposes. However, with the conventional configuration,
Since the tip of the optical viewing tube may be used with the tip protruding beyond the protective sheath, do not touch the distal end of the optical viewing tube with an object to be examined such as a machine, and remove the cover glass or light guide from the end of the optical viewing tube. There is a fear that it may be destroyed, and such accidents have actually occurred. This is especially common in direct view types. This invention was made with attention to such problems, and the purpose is to provide a protective sheath for a rigid scope that can ensure the safety of the optical viewing tube.

The protective sheath for a rigid scope according to this invention has improved safety by providing a fixing means for fixing the protective sheath so that it protrudes beyond the distal end of the optical viewing tube.

[Embodiment] Figures 1 and 2 are diagrams showing a first embodiment of this invention. In this embodiment, a rigid scope 1 observes an image through a rod-shaped optical viewing tube 2 having a built-in optical lens and optical fiber light guide, and a cylindrical rigid scope side connection part 3 with a slightly thick diameter from its base. It is composed of an eyepiece section 4.

The protective sheath 5 into which the optical viewing tube 2 is inserted and connected to the rigid endoscope 1 is made up of a hollow, rod-shaped hard pipe 6 with an inner diameter that allows the optical viewing tube 2 to be inserted sufficiently, and a rigid endoscope side connecting portion 3 extending from its base. It consists of a cylindrical protective sheath-side connection part 7 with an inner diameter that allows insertion of the protective sheath. After inserting the rigid scope side connection part 3 into the protective sheath side connection part 7, a fixing screw 8 is used to fix it.
have. Further, a ring-shaped stopper member 9 is provided on the inner diameter of the tip of the hard pipe 6. The optical viewing tube 2 is inserted into the protective sheath 5, and the tip of the optical viewing tube 2 stops in a state where it hits the stopper member 9, and the fixing screw 8 of the protective sheath side connection part 7 is tightened to connect the rigid scope side. It is fixed to part 3.

FIG. 2 is an enlarged view of the distal end side of FIG. 1. The ring-shaped stopper member 9 has a width in the axial direction such that the observation range is not obscured, and is similarly largely chamfered on one side. With such a configuration,
This rigid scope prevents the end cover glass of the optical viewing tube 2 and the light guide from protruding from the protective sheath 5 without obscuring the observation range. The end cover glass, light guide, etc. can be reliably protected.

Furthermore, since there is a low possibility that the optical viewing tube 2 will come into contact with the subject during the examination, there is no need to be careful when inserting it, and the examination can be speeded up. Furthermore, since there is a low possibility that the optical viewing tube 2 will come into contact with the subject during the examination, insertion becomes easier and the examination speed can be improved.

Figure 3 shows the second embodiment of this invention, and the first
In place of the stopper member 9 of the embodiment, a constricted part 10 is provided by bending the tip of the hard pipe 6 inward. With this configuration, in addition to the same effects as in the first embodiment, the strength of the tip of the rigid pipe 6 is improved.

As described above, according to this invention, the present rigid scope does not obscure the observation range, and the optical viewing tube 2
Since the end cover glass and the light guide are prevented from protruding from the protective sheath 5, the end cover glass, the light guide, etc. can be more reliably protected than when the protective sheath is not used.
