本発明は投票券等を含む磁気カードの磁気情報
を読取る際読取り不良の場合に反転工程において
再読取りできるようにした磁気カード読取装置に
関するものである。 従来、競馬等で発売される投票券の裏面にレー
ス名,組番,金額等の投票情報が磁気書込みさ
れ、これを通常の磁気カードと同様に磁気ヘツド
により読取り、その投票情報が的中券か否かおよ
び的中券の配当金計算を上位装置に照会し、その
結果を表示し現金支払を自動的に行なう払戻装置
が用いられている。 従来の投票券はオペレータおよび客が挿入口に
挿入し、磁気読取りができなかつた場合、カード
搬送用のモータを反転させ、投票券を挿入口に戻
し、表示,ブザー等により磁気読取りができなか
つたことを知らせていた。オペレータおよび客は
これによつて投票券の読取り不良を知ると、再び
投票券を挿入口に挿入するという動作を繰返して
いた。この方法では読取り不良時毎回オペレータ
および客に投票券を返却するため、1枚の投票券
の払戻処理時間が長くなり、また機械側の原因に
基づく読取り不良も含めてオペレータおよび客の
労を煩わすことになり印象が悪くなる。 これに対し、読取り不良の場合投票券をオペレ
ータおよび客に返すのではなく、一度挿入口まで
戻し自動的にモータを逆転させ、再読取りを行な
う方法もある。この場合オペレータおよび客の労
は省けるが、投票券返却時投票券が磁気ヘツド上
を通るにもかかわらず、読取りを行なわないこと
になるから効率が悪いことは明らかである。 本発明の目的は投票券の磁気カードが読取不良
時の再読取りを効率的に行なうようにした磁気カ
ード読取装置を提供することである。 前記目的を達成するため、本発明の磁気カード
読取装置は、所定情報の前後にそれぞれスタート
コードとエンドコードを設けた磁気カードと、 前記磁気カードを正逆方向に搬送する搬送手段
と、 該磁気カードのスタートコードとエンドコード
の何れかを検知するとともに、前記磁気カードの
通過毎に所定情報を検出する読取手段と、 前記スタートコードとエンドコードの検知結果
に応じ、所定情報の読取順序を反転する手段と、 前記所定情報の読取り結果を判定する手段とを
具え、 前記判定手段の判定結果により読取り不能なら
ば前記搬送手段の搬送方向を反転動作させること
を特徴とするものである。 以下本発明を実施例につき詳述する。 第1図は本発明に用いる投票券の裏面に記録し
た磁気情報のフオーマツトの1例を示す。 同図において、6チヤンネルの磁気ヘツド1に
対応して投票券2に6行の投票情報3のそれぞれ
前後にスタートコード(SC)4とエンドコード
(EC)5が設けられる。この6チヤンネルに対応
するビツトは、クロツクタイミングCを挟んで各
2ビツトの重み付けしたビツト1(20),2(21
と、4(2),8(23)と、パリテイPで構成され
る。 投票券2がカード搬送部の一方から挿入され中
間に設けた磁気ヘツド1によりこのSC4あるい
はEC5が検出されると、ヘツドの読取り開始時
の磁気データの識別により、直ちにその投票券2
の最初の挿入方向とその後の搬送方向とを識別す
ることができる。 第1図に示すような重み付けしたコードが投票
券2のSC4とEC5に設定された場合、投票券2
の挿入方向が正方向すなわちSCが前の場合と、
逆方向すなわちECが前の場合とでは重み付けし
たビツトに対応するビツト位置が変化するから異
なるコードが検出され、かつそれぞれの搬送方向
が正転,反転に対応してSC,ECが相反的に検出
されるから異なるコードが検出され、このコード
を16進数で表わすと第1表に示すようになる。

In order to achieve the above object, the magnetic card reading device of the present invention comprises: a magnetic card provided with a start code and an end code respectively before and after predetermined information; a conveying means for conveying the magnetic card in forward and reverse directions; a reading means for detecting either a start code or an end code of a card and detecting predetermined information each time the magnetic card passes; and reversing the reading order of the predetermined information according to the detection result of the start code or end code. and a means for determining a read result of the predetermined information, and if the determination result of the determination means indicates that the predetermined information cannot be read, the conveyance direction of the conveyance means is reversed. の1例を示す。 同図において、第1図に例示した6チヤンネル
の読取ヘツド1により任意の挿入方向で投票券2
が挿入される。まず読取開始時のSCまたはECが
読出されると、増幅器11で増幅され6チヤンネ
ルのデータが比較器12でSCまたはECの基準信
号と比較されて挿入方向の正,逆が決定され、チ
ヤンネル切換回路13で正方向,逆方向に応じチ
ヤンネルが切換えられる。すなわち、第2表に従
い逆方向の場合にはチヤンネルが最終番地からの
順序で切換えられ、磁気読取制御部14に入力し
投票情報がチエツクされ、読取誤りがなければ主
制御部15を介して情報処理装置(CPU)に送
られ、的中情報と照合され配当金金額が返送され
て表示部16に表示される。これにより現金を放
出するとともに、後述するように投票券は搬送制
御部17により搬送制御用ホト信号を入力し、ソ
レノイド制御信号,モータ駆動信号を出力して搬
送が行なわれ、廢券パンチ31を通して券スタツ
カに落下する。 次に、磁気読取制御部14におけるチエツクの
結果投票情報の読取不良の場合には、詳しくは第
3図で後述するように、投票券2は搬送制御部1
7により搬送制御用ホト信号を入力し、ソレノイ
ド駆動信号,モータ駆動信号を出力し、搬送方向
を反転して磁気ヘツドで再読取りを行なわせる。
これと同時に、磁気読取制御部14より切換信号
をチヤンネル切換回路13に送りチヤンネルを切
換えて反転行程における磁気ヘツドによる再読取
りに備える。再読取りの結果も磁気読取制御部1
4でチエツクされ、読取り不良であればさらにカ
ード搬送部の端部で反転して前記と同様の手順を
繰返えす。 第3図は第1図の実施例と関連する磁気読取部
の具体構成の説明図である。 同図において、カード搬送部は読取りヘツド1
と抑えローラ24の間を通しローラ25,26と
駆動ローラ28の外側に張られたエンドレスベル
ト20より成り、その上を投票券2が正方向(右
→左)または逆方向(左→右)に切換えて駆動モ
ータ27で搬送される。ローラ25の後には投票
券2の挿入口がシヤツタ29に設けられ、その両
側にホトセンサ21,22が配され、ローラ26
の前にストツパ30と廢券パンチ31が設けられ
その間にホトセンサ23が配される。 いま、投票券2の先端がホトセンサ21で検出
されると、シヤツタ29が開き駆動モータ27に
より正方向に搬送され、投票券2は読取りヘツド

ド1で検出された結果は第2図の磁気読取制御部
14でチエツクされ、読取られて処理が完了する
と投票券2は廢券パンチ31を受けてストツパ3
0を開けて券スタツカに落下する。これに対しチ
エツクの結果、読取り不良の場合には投票券2の
先端がストツパ30に当りホトセンサ23が券を
検出すると駆動モータ27を反転し、この反転行
程で読取りヘツド1により再読取りが行なわれ
る。再読取りの手順は前述のとおり行なわれ、読
取り不良が続くとホトセンサ22とシヤツタ29
によつて投票券2が反転され、これが繰返えされ
る。 以上説明したように、本発明によれば、投票券
等を含む磁気カードの磁気情報を読取る際読取り
不良の場合に反転行程において再読取りできるよ
うにしたものである。これにより読取り不良の場
合の処理時間を短縮できるとともに、従来の正方
向のみの読取りに比べ反転行程での読取りの方が
読取りの識別が良い場合が多いことから読取率の
向上が期待できる。 本実施例では投票券の磁気情報の前後に券の挿
入方向と搬送方向を識別する情報を設けることに
より、情報内容の読取り判定を容易に行なうこと
ができるが、これは必要条件ではなく他の方法に
より同等の機能をもたせるようにしてもよい。
