【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、クリーニング装置および前記クリー
ニング装置を用いた画像形成装置に関する。

を像担持体に当接してクリーニングするブレード
方式が汎用されている。この様なクリーニング装
置では、クリーニング部材当接位置の像担持体移
動方向に上流側にシート状案内部材を配置し、像
担持体上の付着物は通過させてクリーニング位置
へ到達させる。一方クリーニング部材で除去した
除去物は、前記シート状案内部材の背面側ですな
わち像担持体の設けられている側とは反対側の面
で像担持体より離隔するよう案内するようにして
いる。

ド11によつて像担持体1から除去した残留現像
剤等の除去物を前記像担持体1から離隔する方向
へ案内してケーシング13内に導く。ここで前記
案内部材12は、前記像担持体1の移動方向に体
して前記ブレード11の上流側に設けられてい
る。さて第2図は、第1図で示したクリーニング
装置の側端部斜視図である。図示の如く、本実施
例装置では、ハウジング13の開口側端に設けた
端部シート部材14とは別に、シート状案内部材
12の側端背面側にすなわち像担持体1の設けら
れている側とは反対側にシール部材15を配置す
る。そこで案内部材12は、シール部材15と像
担持体1との間に介在することになる。またこの
シール部材15は、モルトプレーン、ウレタンフ
オーム或いはフエルト類等の弾性部材で構成さ
れ、シート状案内部材12の端部の変位を干渉し
て拘束する恐れはない。なお本実施例では、シー
ル部材15は、端部シール部材14と密着配設す
るが、両者は別体でも一体でも良い(因みに第3
図は一体の例である)。

を確実に防止することができた。
