Along with this, catheters are also being introduced into more difficult sites, and therefore further improvements in operability are desired. For this reason, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 60-63065 discloses Ni-Ti system, Cu-Zn system,

-Guide wires made of Al-based superelastic metal bodies are disclosed, and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 60-63066
A guide wire with a thin tip made of a superelastic metal body was disclosed, and further disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 106173/1986.
The publication discloses a catheter made of a TiNi alloy wire that exhibits the pseudoelastic effect of a shape memory alloy, that is, a superelastic effect, and in which the cross-sectional area of the tip portion of the alloy wire is narrower than that of the other portion of the alloy wire. A guidewire is disclosed. Furthermore, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 62-299277 discloses a guide wire made of a synthetic resin tube.

The superelastic metals described in JP-A 60-63066 and JP-A-60-63066 are undesirable because they lack elasticity at low temperatures, and in particular, in the case of NiTi alloys, the transformation temperature (Af point) is Since the temperature is 100℃, the elasticity in the low temperature range is not sufficient. On the other hand, guide wires made of synthetic resin tubes have problems such as insufficient rigidity.

The superelastic effect is in the range of Af point to Af point +30
Expresses well between ℃. Therefore, by setting the Af point of the Ni-Ti-Co alloy around 10℃,
Since it can maintain sufficient elasticity in the temperature range from room temperature to body temperature (approximately 37 degrees Celsius), the guidewire's operability is greatly improved.
