Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a scrubbing type detergent having comfortable scrubbing feeling and sufficient cleaning effects by drying and crushing a fibrous substance of a dishcloth gourd, regulating the crushed fibrous substance to a specific particle size and blending the resultant scrubbing agent with other ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A detergent containing a dishcloth gourd scrubbing agent is obtained by facilitating removal of a pericarp by dipping a full ripe fruit of a dishcloth gourd in water, etc., then removing the pericarp, sufficiently washing the resultant fruit with water, drying the washed fruit subsequently incising the dishcloth gourd fiber, removing seeds, as necessary, carrying out homogenizing treatment such as bleaching and washing, crushing the obtained fruit with a rotary cutter, then sieving the crushed fruit through a mesh screen, providing the dishcloth gourd scrubbing agent having 20 to 250 mesh particle size and blending the aforementioned dishcloth scrubbing agent in an amount of 0.5-5wt.%, preferably 1-3wt.% in a detergent. The above-mentioned dishcloth gourd scrubbing agent has excellent water absorptivity and is soft in aspect of the feel and touch with softness as compared with those of conventional scrubbing agents.

Examples of scrubbing agents include natural ones such as seed kernels of apricots, walnuts, peaches, watermelons, sunflowers, etc., ground products of corn cobs, etc., and synthetic resin-based ones such as powders of polyethylene, vinyl chloride, etc. However, although these powders have a high cleaning effect, they have the drawback of being too irritating to the skin.
