Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the adjustment and to send a read original image to a host computer in an optimum state by incorporating a real time monitoring display device for lighting or focus adjustment to the reader. CONSTITUTION:A CCD linear image sensor in a camera head section 3 picks up an image of an original on an original platen 1 through a lens 4 by subscanning and the image is displayed on a liquid crystal display monitor 8 in real time. When a problem in the lighting exists in a displayed image, a fluorescent light 2 is immediately lighted and an aperture ring of the lens 4 is adjusted and the light storage time of the CCD linear image sensor is changed by the operation of an operating panel 7. After each adjustment is finished, the image of the read original is sent to a host computer via an interface 6.

In this conventional device, in the camera head section 3, the O.
The OD linear image sensor is sub-scanned to image the original placed on the original platen 1 through the lens 4, and the image data is transmitted to the host computer via the interface 6. As a result of the transmission, if the image is dark, adjust the illumination of the document surface with fluorescent lamp 2 and adjust the aperture ring of the lens, and if the image is not in focus, adjust the focus ring of lens 4. Adjust the focus by adjusting the device 5 or the like.

With this configuration, the COD linear image sensor in the camera head unit 3 scans the document platen 1 by sub-scanning.
An image of the upper document is captured through a lens 4, and the image is displayed on a liquid crystal display monitor 8 in real time. If there is a problem with lighting in the displayed image, you can immediately turn on the fluorescent lamp 2, adjust the aperture ring of the lens 4, and even use the operation G on the operation panel 7 to turn on the OO.
The problem is solved by changing the light accumulation time of the D linear image sensor, and if there is a problem with focus, the focus ring of the lens 4 is adjusted to bring it into focus.
