Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily position a bar code by reading the bar code sticked on the topside of a product by means of reflecting irradiation light from a device main body with a half mirror. CONSTITUTION:The main body 1 is provided with a half mirror 4 turning irradiation light from underside into irradiation light from upside so that an operator can see the bar code sticked on the product 2. The bar code is read by reflecting the irradiation light emitted from the main body 1 with the half mirror 4 with the bar code 3 on the product 2 facing up. Consequently, as the bar code can be read with the bar code face facing up, unnecessary work which changes the direction of the bar code face to under side is omitted. Besides, as the operator can see the bar code stuck on the product through the half mirror. the bar code can easily be positioned.
