Conventionally, various antifouling agents have been used to prevent the adhesion and propagation of such freshwater and seawater harmful organisms. Copper sulfate, cuprous oxide, organic tin compounds, and the like have been known as active ingredients of such antifouling agents, and are still widely used. These active ingredients are contained in the paint in an amount of 10 to 50% by weight, and are continuously eluted in seawater to prevent attachment of harmful organisms.

[Means to solve the problem] In view of the current situation,
As a result of intensive research to develop compounds other than organotin compounds that are safe and have an antifouling effect, the present inventors discovered that bisabolene has a repellent effect on harmful underwater organisms, and based on this knowledge, Based on this, the present invention was completed. That is, the aquatic organism repellent of the present invention is characterized by containing bisabolene as an active ingredient. Bisabolene has α, β, and γ-isomers, and in the present invention, any of them may be used, or a mixture thereof may be used. It can also be used in combination with other agents. Although this bisabolene can also be obtained by chemical synthesis, extracts extracted by known methods from plants and animals that contain a large amount of naturally occurring bisabolene, such as ginger plants and coelenterates, are used. Furthermore, a single product separated from this extract can be used. The aquatic organism repellent containing bisabolene as an active ingredient of the present invention is prepared and used in the form of a paint, solution, emulsion, or the like. This can be carried out without problems by employing commonly used prescriptions. For example, when used as a paint, bisabolene is blended into a paint preparation to prepare an antifouling paint, which can be applied to ship bottoms, underwater structures, and cooling intake channels. The film forming agent used in this case includes, for example, oil varnish, synthetic resin, and artificial rubber. A solvent and an extender pigment can be further added to the antifouling paint as desired. In this case, the active ingredient is preferably blended in an amount of 0.5 to 40%, more preferably 1 to 20%, based on the weight of the film forming agent. When used as a solution, bisabolene is mixed with a film-forming agent and dissolved in a solvent to form a solution, which can be applied to aquaculture fishing nets, fixed fishing nets, etc. for the purpose of preventing the adhesion and propagation of aquatic organisms. As the coating film forming agent, for example, natural resin, synthetic resin, artificial rubber, etc. are used, and as the solvent, toluene, xylene, cumene, acetone, etc. are used. Additionally, additives such as plasticizers can be added to the solution as necessary. When used as a solution, the active ingredient is preferably incorporated in a proportion of 0.5 to 50% by weight, more preferably 1 to 20% by weight, based on the solution. When used as an emulsion, the active ingredient is dissolved in a solvent and a surfactant is further added. This agent can also be used by kneading it into polymeric resins for underwater use such as aquaculture fishing nets and stationary fishing nets.

[Effect of the invention] The active ingredient of the underwater sessile repellent of the present invention is derived from natural products, and is a highly safe compound that is present in large quantities in food ingredients. Moreover, conventional organotin compounds kill sessile organisms. On the other hand, the repellent of the present invention utilizes the effect of blocking only the adhesion function without killing sessile organisms, and has an excellent effect of repelling sessile organisms in water and is effective against fish and shellfish. It is a highly safe aquatic organism repellent.

EXAMPLES Next, the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Examples, but the scope of the present invention is not limited thereto. Example 1 kg of the coelenterate sea crest collected from the Ogasawara coral reef area was cut into pieces, 2 kg of acetone was added thereto, and the mixture was allowed to stand at room temperature in the dark for 24 hours, after which it was filtered and separated into a filtrate and a residue. The filtrate is concentrated under reduced pressure at room temperature to remove acetone, and ethyl acetate is added and distributed to separate the upper ethyl acetate layer and the lower aqueous layer, and the obtained ethyl acetate layer is concentrated under reduced pressure. Ethyl acetate was removed to obtain 10.2 g of an oil. Furthermore, this oil was subjected to silica gel column chromatography,
The fraction eluted with hexane was concentrated under reduced pressure at room temperature to remove hexane, and a single product of β-bisabolene was obtained. The obtained β

3, 3319 (1989)). In other words,
25 mg and 5 mg of the test compound were dissolved in 1 ml of acetone and applied to a test paper in a circular shape with a diameter of 4 cm. After drying, glue 4 pieces of purple mussel around the outer periphery of the applied circle and heat at 20°C.
It was placed in running seawater. After 3 hours, the mussels formed new attachment byssus threads. The number of attached byssus threads was examined to determine the adhesion prevention effect. In addition, as a comparative example, 1 mg of copper sulfate
Similar tests were conducted using only acetone and acetone. The results are shown in Table 1.
