Conventionally, after applying a hydrogen peroxide solution to the surface of the wood, the wood was heated to a temperature between room temperature and high temperature (e.g. 100°C).
There was a method of curing (leaving, etc.) under the following conditions to decolorize. Furthermore, in order to enhance the bleaching effect, a so-called steam curing method was developed in which the wood is exposed to steam during curing. This steam curing method has greatly improved the degree and speed of decolorization of wood, but depending on the type of wood, there may be cases where it is desired to further increase the degree of decolorization, or where it is desired to increase the rate of decolorization even further. was desired.

The decolorizing effect of a hydrogen peroxide solution is caused by the following two types of decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. One is decomposition, which is highly effective in decolorizing wood. Its chemical formula is expressed as H 2 O 2 →HOO - +H + ..., and reductive decolorization is performed by the action of HOO - . The other type is decomposition, which has a weaker decolorizing effect than formula decomposition. Its chemical formula is expressed as H 2 O 2 →H 2 O+(O)..., and oxidative decolorization is performed by the action of nascent oxygen (O). Decolorization of wood by hydrogen peroxide is carried out by both of the above two types of decomposition.

However, in the conventional decolorization method, the surface coated with hydrogen peroxide was cured while being exposed to the outside air, so a large amount of the nascent enzyme (O) produced by the decomposition of the above formula escaped into the outside air. This results in wasteful consumption of H 2 O 2 and a decrease in the decolorizing effect. Moreover, the fact that a large amount of nascent oxygen (O) constantly escapes from the reaction system where the decomposition of the formula is occurring indicates that the environment is extremely favorable for the reaction of the formula to proceed in the direction of the arrow. Therefore, the decomposition reaction of the formula with a stronger decolorizing effect was suppressed, and the decomposition of the formula with a weaker decolorizing effect (decomposition of the formula) was promoted, resulting in an inefficient decolorizing action. Furthermore, in conventional decolorization methods, hydrogen peroxide itself vaporizes during curing and escapes into the outside air as steam, so hydrogen peroxide is wasted in this sense as well.

This invention is a method for decolorizing wood that involves steam curing wood that has been coated with a hydrogen peroxide solution. A method for decolorizing wood, which is characterized by sealing the wood. This will be explained in detail below with reference to the drawings.

First, as shown in FIG. 1, a veneer 1 is inserted into a roll coater 2 for double-sided coating, and decolorizing liquids 3 are applied to both the upper and lower surfaces of the veneer 1 while moving in the direction of the arrow. Next, as shown in Figure 3, the veneers 1... are stacked so that the surfaces coated with the decolorizing liquid overlap, and the entire stacked veneers 1... are made of sheet material such as vinyl sheet, polyethylene sheet, etc. Steam curing is performed while wrapped in 5. In the diagram, 4
is a nursing room. In this way, if the entire stack of veneers is further wrapped with a vinyl sheet, etc., the escape prevention effect will be further enhanced, and the escape prevention effect will also be obtained in that the surface of the topmost veneer will not be exposed to the outside air. This is what happens.

As shown in Figure 2, stacking wooden veneers coated with hydrogen peroxide solution also has the effect of sealing the surface coated with hydrogen peroxide. However, in this case, the surface of the laminate is open and the sealing performance is not high, and the effect of suppressing the loss of nascent oxygen to the outside air and the vaporization of hydrogen peroxide is not as strong as in this invention, and the hydrogen peroxide suppression of waste, good degree of decolorization,
It is not possible to reliably shorten the decolorization treatment time, and in addition, it is not very practical because the wooden veneers must be in close contact with each other. On the other hand,
In the case of this invention, high sealing performance can be achieved with a simple operation of wrapping the surface of the laminate with a covering material, and there is no need to pay any attention to the cleaning condition of the wooden veneer, so it is highly practical. .

In the method for decolorizing wood according to the present invention, there are no particular restrictions on the steps up to applying the hydrogen peroxide solution. For example, wood coated with alkaline solution may be loaded and cured until the alkaline solution has sufficiently penetrated the wood. Furthermore, there are no particular restrictions on the method or conditions for applying the hydrogen peroxide solution; for example, a spray may be used or the wood may be immersed in the hydrogen peroxide solution. In the example, the hydrogen peroxide solution was applied to both the upper and lower surfaces, but it may be applied to only one side.

There are no special restrictions on the number of timbers loaded during curing. In addition, in the embodiment, the entire stack of veneers was wrapped in a vinyl sheet or the like for curing, but as shown in FIG. You may also wrap it in water and apply curing to it. In the figure, 6 is a curing room.

In the method for decolorizing wood according to the present invention, the wood to be treated was a veneer in the example, but
Needless to say, other wood materials are also objects to be treated. However, if the method of sealing from the outside air is by loading, it is preferable that the containers be of the same size. This is because the surfaces coated with the hydrogen peroxide solution can completely adhere to each other over the entire surface.

[Example 1] A total of 110 gr/m 2 of a 3% NaOH aqueous solution was applied to the top and bottom surfaces of an agathis veneer with dimensions of 600 mm and width of 600 mm and a thickness of 1.5 mm, and the coat was cured at room temperature for about 12 hours so as not to dry. Then add H 2 O 2 45% aqueous solution meter to both top and bottom surfaces of the veneer.
90gr/m 2 was applied, and each sheet was sealed in a polyethylene bag and cured in an atmosphere of 100° C. and 100% RH for about 2 hours. The degree of decolorization is L * = 89.0, a * =

As described above, the method for decolorizing wood according to the present invention involves applying a hydrogen peroxide solution to the surface of the wood and then removing the coated surface. Since it is sealed from the outside air, it prevents the nascent enzyme that performs the decolorizing action from escaping into the outside air and prevents evaporation of hydrogen peroxide, which reduces wastage of hydrogen peroxide and prevents the decolorizing action from evaporating. Increased efficiency and degree of decolorization. In addition, preventing the escape of nascent oxygen has the effect that among the two types of decomposition of hydrogen peroxide, the decomposition that produces nascent oxygen decreases, and the decomposition that has a high decolorizing effect increases, so the decolorizing effect increases. becomes very efficient and thus the amount of hydrogen peroxide used for decolorization can be saved. Furthermore, the improved decolorization efficiency brings about the effect that the decolorization time can be shortened. In addition, during curing, the surface to which hydrogen peroxide is applied is encapsulated with an encapsulant, so it has a high sealing property, which has a strong effect of suppressing the loss of nascent oxygen to the outside air and the vaporization of hydrogen peroxide. It is possible to reliably suppress the waste of hydrogen peroxide, achieve a good degree of decolorization, and shorten the decolorization treatment time.
