Abstract

PURPOSE:To relieve the load of a central controller of an electronic exchange into which the telephone set is to be accommodated. CONSTITUTION:The telephone set is provided with a display circuit 1 and five patterns of pattern information to be displayed therein are stored in a pattern memory 2. A button group 4 including a number button and an operation mode setting button is connected to a control circuit 3 via a scanning circuit 5 to recognize the depression of the button. A speech circuit 7 multiplexes/ demultiplexes a PCM audio signal, control information and pattern display information sent/received through digital subscriber line 10 respectively and relays them to a handset 8 and a control circuit. A PB transmission circuit 9 sending a PB signal representing a button to be depressed when the operating mode is set to the usual telephone set mode is connected to a speech circuit. The control circuit is provided with a control memory 6 to execute various control and analyzes a pattern information request from the button group and displays the pattern information when the information is stored in the pattern memory and requests transfer to the center controller when not stored, stores the transferred information to the pattern memory and displays it.
