Abstract

PURPOSE:To radiate the heat from a lamp efficiently and to suppress a rise in the temperature of the lighting device by composing a reflecting member of a metallic plate which has a reflection part and a heat radiation part. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting member which reflects the light from the fluorescent lamp 2 and makes it incident on a photoconductor 1 is composed of the metallic plate which consists of the reflection part 5 and heat radiation part. The size of the metallic plate 3 which covers the surface of a reflecting layer is not important and only properly selected according to the material of the metallic plate 3. Further, holes for improving the heat radiation effect may be bored in the metallic plate 3 except at the reflection part 5. Thus, the metallic plate 3 is used as the reflecting member of the lighting device to accelerate the heat radiation from the fluorescent lamp 2. The temperature rise of the lighting device is therefore suppressed and when this device is used as the back light source of a liquid crystal display device, etc., the display deterioration of the liquid crystal device due to heat generated by lighting is prevented.
