(Means for Solving the Problems) When covering a linear guide rail, the present invention takes into account that a part of the protective cover body is brought into close contact with the side surface of the rail so that no gap is created between them, and the above-mentioned conventional method is adopted. It aims to solve problems. In addition, when covering the side rails of a moving body, the present invention eliminates the need for expansion and contraction by moving one end of the protective cover body to follow the movement of the moving body without fixing it to the rail. This is intended to simplify the structure of the protective cover body.

(Function) In the first configuration of the present invention described above, since both end portions 16, 16 of the protective cover body 9 abut against both side surfaces of the linear guide rail 1 due to their elastic force, the protective cover body 9 comes into contact with both side surfaces of the linear guide rail 1. An unreasonable gap through which dust can enter will not be created between the cover body 9 and both side surfaces of the rail 1. Further, since the protective cover body 9 has one end connected to the movable body 2, it moves following the movement of the movable body 2, but at that time, the protective cover body 9 has both ends 16, 16 It slides while in contact with both sides of the rail 1, maintaining the covered state of the rail. Furthermore, the dimensions of the protective cover body 9 are set to be longer than at least the reciprocating distance of the movable body 2, and are set so as to cover the entire rail portion on one side of the movable body 2. A predetermined rail portion on one side of the body 2 can be protected at all times. Therefore, there is no need to form the protective cover body 9 into an elastic bellows shape or the like. Furthermore, both end portions 16, 16 on the end side of the protective cover body 9, which protrude outward from the end of the linear guide rail 1, are maintained in an open state by the shape retaining means 14. When this part moves toward the linear guide rail 1 side, the distal end portions 16, 16 in the closed state do not cause any inconvenience such as unduly catching on the end portion of the rail 1.

Further, the other end portions of the protective cover bodies 9, 9a that protrude outward from the ends of the rail 1 are maintained in an open state with their tip portions 16, 16 by caps 14, 14. Therefore, when the other end side of the protective cover bodies 9, 9a moves toward the rail 1 side, the tip portions 16, 16 do not get caught on the end of the rail 1, and the both sides of the rail 1 It will be guided smoothly as if sandwiching it. That is, if the caps 14, 14 are not present, the tips 16, 16 on the other end side of the protective cover bodies 9, 9a protruding outward from the rail 1 will be in a closed state as shown in FIG. In this case, when the portion moves toward the rail 1, the tip portions 16, 16 get caught on the end of the rail 1, and the movable bodies 2, 2a cannot move smoothly. In addition, a situation may arise in which the tips 16, 16 cannot properly sandwich both sides of the rail 1, and the protective cover body 9,
There is also a risk that 9a may come off the rail 1. However, as mentioned above, this kind of difficulty lies in the cap 14,
This can be appropriately prevented by maintaining the other end sides of the protective cover bodies 9 and 9a in a predetermined open state using 14.

Furthermore, when the movable bodies 2, 2a move, the oil coating material 8 attached to the protective cover body 4 slides on the rail 1, naturally supplying and coating oil onto the rail 1.

In the above embodiment, the cap 14 was fitted to the end of the protective cover body 9 to maintain its shape.
The shape retaining means according to the present invention is by no means limited to this. In short, any means may be used as long as it is capable of maintaining both tip ends 16, 16 of the portion of the linear guide rail 1 that protrudes outward from the end thereof in an open state. However, if it is formed as a cap that fits onto the end as described above, it is easy to attach, and the sharp end of the protective cover body 9 can be covered, making it safe to handle.

Further, although the protective cover bodies 4 and 9 according to the above embodiments are formed by coating a metal core material of a predetermined shape with resin, the present invention is not limited to this, and the specific material etc. may be used. do not have. In short, it is sufficient that the linear guide has a substantially C-shaped cross section and has the elasticity to close its legs inward so that both ends face each other, and the specific length of the linear guide is also determined. It can be changed arbitrarily depending on the specific length of the rail 1 and the amount of movement of the moving body 2.

(Effect of the invention) As described above, the present invention connects a protective cover body formed with a substantially C-shaped cross section to a moving body, and linearizes both ends of the protective cover body by its elastic force. Since it is in contact with both sides of the guide rail, both ends of the protective cover body can be brought into close contact with the side surfaces of the rail, creating a large gap between the protective cover body and the side surface of the rail unlike in the conventional case. Even if the protective cover body moves along the rail following the movement of the moving object, both ends of the protective cover body can appropriately maintain a state in contact with the side surface of the rail. Furthermore, in a configuration in which one end of the protective cover body is connected to the side of the movable body to cover a rail portion on one side of the movable body, the dimensions of the protective cover body are at least as large as the reciprocation of the movable body. The length is set to be longer than the moving distance so that it can cover all the rail parts on one side of the moving body, and both tips of the part of the protective cover body that protrudes outward from the rail end are set. Since the shape-retaining means for maintaining the legs in the open state is provided, cracks, etc. caused by repeated expansion and contraction are not caused in the protective cover body, unlike the conventional means of forming the protective cover body in a bellows shape that can be freely expanded and contracted. In addition, the protective cover body is easy to manufacture, reducing manufacturing costs. This is of great practical value because it can prevent both ends of the rail from getting caught on the end of the rail, causing inconvenience in its movement.

Furthermore, according to the means of the present invention in which a seal body is provided at one end of the linear guide rail and slidably abuts on the inner surface of the protective cover body, the contact between the one end of the linear guide rail and the inner surface of the protective cover body is improved. It is also possible to close the gap formed between the rails, which has the effect of completely preventing dust from entering into the rail side from the outside.

Furthermore, in a configuration in which a protective cover body is connected and provided between two movable bodies, a method in which an oil-impregnated coating material is provided on the inner surface of the protective cover body prevents the oil from being applied when the movable body moves. Since the material automatically applies oil to the surface of the linear guide rail, it can be made in a so-called maintenance-free state and has the effect of providing great convenience in handling.
